It's not...not by any group or individual. It's disgusting, it's ignorant and as far as I am concerned, its against the law as it's an attack without provocation, because the individual, Tim Profitt, who stomped Lauren's head and neck, is a truck load of pond scum who has zero credibility as an intelligent, thinking, rational human being.

Rand Paul originally loved this jackhole,as he listed his dumb ass as a wonderful, magnanimous supporter, ole Timmy had given him roughly 1500 bucks, per Lawrence O'Donnells show....before he moved far far away from this bag of batshit and dumped his disgusting ass after he curbstomped a small, unarmed female exercising her right to free speech. I am happy to report this bag of sheep shit has been ordered to appear in court after Lauren was released from the hospital with a concussion. The sumbitch actually is defending his actions by blaming the 'camera angle', that he was concerned for Rand Paul's safety and (I love this one) the cops should of intervened. Lexington Division of Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said Tuesday that officers will deliver a summons to Profitt to appear in court. A judge will determine whether to proceed with an assault case.

Profitt said the fight never would have occurred if police officers had intervened earlier.

"A friend of mine went up to three policeman before Rand got there, and told them about the girl who was standing there with that wig on and that she was getting ready to do something," Profitt said. "The policemen looked at him and said that's not our job."

 Oh yeah...a small female holding nothing but a cardboard sign was going to harm Rand Paul. Give me an effin break you American Terrorist. You fucking bully. You are a disgusting piece of human excrement Tim Profitt and I hope to hell you have charges to face in court...although considering the venue, I highly doubt it. The fight? Those wonderful folks at CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) have filed an FOIA request (Freedom of Information Act) with the jackholes at the DOJ demanding the doc's to find out exactly why those fuckwits refused to prosecute one of the biggest, most corrupt former members of Congress...Tommy 'hottub' Delay. Why did disgraced former Congressman Tom DeLay (R-TX) never face federal prosecution? The public has a right to know, but the Department of Justice isn’t telling. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the Department of Justice (DOJ) requesting all documents and communications related to the five year investigation into the former Texas lawmaker and his associates. Mr. DeLay is slated to face state charges in Texas later this month; as a result, CREW asked DOJ to expedite a response to the request.

“One of the most corrupt members to ever walk the halls of Congress will never have to answer for operating the House like a pay-to-play casino. The American people deserve to know what evidence the Department of Justice collected on Mr. DeLay and why that evidence was not sufficient to charge him,” said Melanie Sloan, CREW Executive Director. “The Department of Justice has not made prosecuting crooked government officials a top priority. The Public Integrity Section lacks the staff and resources necessary to prosecute even some of Washington’s demonstrably most unscrupulous leaders.  The Obama administration must ensure this section has resources it needs to do its job properly. After all, if Tom DeLay can get away with brazenly selling legislative assistance to Jack Abramoff, who knows what other scheming self-interested members of Congress might try?”

I don't know about you folks, but I am friggin dying to know why Eric Holder and company refused to prosecute this corrupt bag of batshit.

Environmental grp sues to reinstate deepwater drilling moratorium.

The Center for Biological Diversity has filed (pdf) a lawsuit challenging the federal government's logic on this issue. From Jurist:

The Center for Biological Diversity filed a lawsuit Friday against Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, seeking to have the deepwater drilling moratorium reinstated. The lawsuit, filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, argues that Salazar's order to lift the ban without conducting a comprehensive review of the effects of drilling on wildlife and the environment violated the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) [42 USC § 4321-4347] and is arbitrary and capricious. Earlier this month, Salazar announced the end of a six-month moratorium on certain types of deepwater oil drilling, seven weeks ahead of schedule. The moratorium was put in place following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in April, in which the Center states spilled more than "200 million gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico." In explaining the need for the reinstatement, the center said:

    The Secretary's failure to include and inform the public in NEPA's decision-making process violates NEPA's requirement that agencies make the relevant information available to the public so that it may also play a role in both the decision-making process and the implementation of the proposed activity. In the aftermath of the worst environmental disaster in American history it is arbitrary and capricious and in violation of NEPA for the Secretary to withhold from public notice, comment, and review the Environmental Assessment prior to making his decision.

The lawsuit comes as the Department of Interior (DOI) is considering granting the first drilling permit since lifting the moratorium.

The Biggest Document leak in History and what it means.

The Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ), a UK website, has the entire set of Wikileaks Iraq War Logs online, other than Wikileaks itself. The corporate news sites like the NYT, The Guardian and Der Speigel and several others, all give you their interpretations of the thousands of pages, but TBIJ site seems the most comprehensive to me. From their site, the section which tells us what exactly the thousand upon thousands of pages of doc's, (400,000 pages), videos and military logs mean and their accompanying short video below:

First off, the number of unreported civilian deaths just boggles my mind. The Iraq Body Count site estimates that this leak uncovers 15,000 more civilian deaths than our government reported. This of course raises the total level of deaths, regardless of group, country affiliation and including combatants to more than 150,000.Another quote to blow your mind:

Following the release of the US military war logs, the civilian death toll has risen from 107,000 to 122,000, according to Iraq Body Count.

I have been perusing the TBIJ site most of today and it just gets more ugly, grim and nightmarish with each page/story.  The following line, from this page, just took my breath away:

Holy fuckamoly, I just have a hard time wrapping my mind around everything I read there. Bear in mind that all the civilian deaths were not caused by US or Coalition troops. But.... Hundreds of civilians were gunned down in error at checkpoints...their deaths never reported to anyone.

Mutha Fuckas..Our government lied and continues to lie to us about the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. Why do I say they continue to lie? Well because, for one thing, the Obama administration handed over detainees despite reports of torture by Iraq government authorities. This is a clear violation of international law, drawn up by the United Nations Convention Against Torture, ratified by the US in 1994, for any government to transfer detainees to a regime at whose hands they face torture or other serious human rights violations.

That last paragraph above should make your friggin day...it sure as fuck made mine. A small price to pay my ass.

I agree with this OpEd  entitled Problem With Secrecy is Over-Classification Not Leaks penned by Jesselyn Radack and reprinted over at the Govt Accountability Project (GAP). She is responding to an OpEd over at WaPo, which I won't link to, about the double standard the Obama Administration seems to have taken regarding whistleblowers vs. leaks. Obama has a double standard on LOTS of issues..DADT comes to mind right off the fucking bat. I am sure you can think of quite a few others, but I digress...From Jesselyn's piece:

Jack Goldsmith's Washington Post Op-ed echos (without credit) Michael Isikoff's recent piece by highlighting the double standard of Obama's position on leak prosecutions in light of the national security information revealed in Bob Woodward's new book, Obama's Wars.

However, Goldsmith's take misses in one major way with the argument that

if the giant disclosures of classified information have no legal consequences, they still harm national security by delegitimizing the presidential classification system.

Goldsmith overlooks that what delegitimizes the value of classified information is over-classifying volumes of information that have nothing to do with national security and everything to do with covering government misconduct, not the leaking of information within the public interest. While Goldsmith does recognize that over-classification is a problem, his argument falls short because it is the over-classification, not the leaking, that undermines the classification system and endangers national security.

Bush43 classified more worthless shit than any president before or after his dumbass. This is a fact jack. I don't recall anyone except the left bitching about his classification fuckery. This does not give the Obama Administration a free pass on this issue however.

Didn't the Big O tells us hundreds of times how he was going to bring transparency back to the Federal Government? Yeah right...we have seen how that bullshit has played out, specifically with the case of Thomas Drake which Jesselyn goes into as well in her piece. Oh, and lets not forget the leak of Valerie Plame's status and how that one turned out...one of the most heinous of all, in my humble but loud and obnoxious pov. 

Obama continues to prosecute cases brought into the federal court system by the Bush43 administration. Cases that were horseshit, bullshit and any other kind of shit you care to name. I don't give a flying fuck what excuse Obama and Holder make for continuing that policy...its all bullshit in a bag for me...excuses, excuses and more fucking excuses.The Corporate Media refuses to remind us of most of those cases which are still ongoing. One final note: if you get a call in the middle of the night and there is silence on the other end, that is not Virginia Thomas. That is Clarence Thomas.

Justice Thomas is a beneficiary of that pay and has a responsibility under federal law to “inform himself” about who the donors are because they have an impact on Mrs. Thomas’s personal financial interests.

Mrs. Thomas is not legally required to disclose the donors. That is unfortunate, but she does have a duty to do so, just as former President Bill Clinton had a duty to disclose the donors to his library and charitable ventures when his wife became secretary of state.

Justice Thomas needs disclosure to know if either of those donors is a party in a case before the Supreme Court or has an interest in a party. That is the only way he can comply with a fundamental ethical and legal requirement to “disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.”

    The editor of the Alaska Dispatch website was arrested by U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller's private security guards Sunday as the editor attempted to interview Miller at the end of a public event in an Anchorage school.

    Tony Hopfinger was handcuffed by the guards and detained in a hallway at Central Middle School until Anchorage police came and told the guards to release Hopfinger.

    Hopfinger has not been charged but the owner of the Drop Zone, the private security firm that's been providing Miller's security, accused Hopfinger of trespassing at the public event, a town hall sponsored by the Miller campaign. The owner, William Fulton, also said Hopfinger assaulted a man by shoving him.

    Anchorage Police who responded to the call said they would leave it to the District Attorney's office to decide whether to prosecute. They spent more than an hour taking statements, then left.

He admitted to taking $2.4 million in bribes mostly from defense contractors in exchange for government business and "other favors". A federal grand jury is investigating whether the murder last year of Dr. George Tiller, one of the nation's few late-term abortion providers, was connected to a broader case involving radical anti-abortion activists, according to a federal law enforcement official familiar with the case.

The official spoke Friday to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to publicly discuss the investigation. The official said federal civil rights prosecutors were holding grand jury proceedings in Kansas City, looking into whether a broader case surrounded Tiller's death.

Tiller was fatally shot in his Wichita church in May 2009 by anti-abortion activist Scott Roeder, who admitted to the shooting and is serving a life prison sentence. The ABC link also provides a video of the sick, twisted, asshole killer Scott Roeder.

It Lives!

It only took me 12 friggin hours to get my laptop up and running, which I did myself without any professional help, other than the recovery disc from Microsoft, which was only Service Pack Two.So that means I had to download and install over 200 ( I swear to Buddha, I lost count at 150) Microsoft system/program updates to bring it current to service pack 3 and reinstalling a few things...like Firefox and Opera since I refuse to use IE. Getting the wireless router to work with my computer took over an hour and by that time...roughly 7pm...I was out of patience and in pain from sitting forever staring at a fucking computer screen and reinstalling Windows XP and all their effin updates. Christ, I hate Windows...but getting a Mac just isn't possible on my income.

Yes, I did have the guy from Norton/Symantec, a patient man named Jason, reinstall it on my system this morning. Since I haven't populated my system with the backup shit that is online @ Mozy, I figured might as well give Norton another shot, plus they gave me an additional three months gratis...for...cough...all my troubles.

The Bakersfield Business Conference was a joke, and Sarah was a big hit w/the rightwing nutters who dropped a lot of cash to sit in a fucking tent on folding chairs and listen to her, Mitt, Newt, Rove, Cheney and other members of Nutter U talk shit, obfuscate and lie their asses off.

Once again a key piece of news has passed virtually without comment.

While the entire nation argues over nonsense like the WTC Mosque, Rick Sanchez, and, yes, blue-red culture war stuff like the Tea Party, congress yesterday quietly took a knee on the “carried interest” tax question. In doing so they decided not to take a vote on changes already approved by both houses that would scale back perhaps the most preposterous tax break in the entire federal code, one that leaves hedge-fund gazillionaires like Stevie Cohen and John Paulson paying less than half the top tax rate paid by most middle and upper-middle class Americans.

The carried interest tax break is a classic example of how in America constituencies with the means and the bureaucratic endurance to get what they want slowly hack away at the government over time, carving out exemptions to their civic responsibilities while ordinary people suck the proverbial egg. A 100% or 200% tax break for hedge fund and private equity billionaires is not the sort of thing that one passes instantly, by standing up in front of big campaign crowds and urging on a mob; it takes a long time and a lot of behind-the-scenes baby steps.

It just jacks my jaw how the Wall Streeters and the Corporatocracy buy the assholes in Congress so damn easily...regardless of party affiliation.  I really love the next paragraph. Taibbi really does his homework it seems:

The capital-gains-cut movement was opposed by of all people Ronald Reagan, who in 1986 signed into law a thing called the Tax Reform Act that that ended capital gains exemptions and left all types of income taxed at the same rates. Some conservatives have never forgiven Reagan for this move. In any case, over the next 20 years, the capital gains cuts were gradually restored. Clinton in 1997 passed the Taxpayer Relief Act that cut the top rate from 28% to 20%. Then Bush came into office and with his famous monster cuts slashed the capital gains rate even further, to 15%. Bush also reduced taxes on dividends to the same rate as capital gains, 15%.

The folks at Norton, and I use that term 'folks' loosely,(personally I call them something much uglier) are now sending me some fucking recovery disc since I get nothing but the BSOD (blue screen of death) when I try to boot my laptop. Some woman with a really heavy, hard to understand, out of the country accent, really hosed me when she said she could 'fix it', and now I get to deal with some guy named Jason who is 'da boss' and here in the US. Gawd=fucking=bless outsourcing eh folks?

There is more bullshittery, but I believe you folks really don't need to read about it....lets just say ole Dad took a trip to Anaheim for no apparent reason(he couldn't explain why he was there and actually didn't know where in the hell he was) and the cops there refused to do a report on the old fucker who couldn't find his ass w/both hands last Thursday. See, Dad is a retired law enforcement officer with a gold-fucking-badge that evidently gets his drunk-80 year old- ass out of all kinds of problems and situations when he fucks up, mostly behind the wheel of a huge friggin SUV.

Safety net my ass: How the system screws the middle class.

Susie Madrak has a good post up at C&L about the govt program known as Welfare and how it fucks the middle class folks that are hurting the most right now. From her piece:

In addition to being severely underfunded during this crisis, the welfare programs simply aren't set up to help the formerly-middle class people who are trying to get into the system. For instance, here in Pennsylvania, someone I know was turned down because his bank statement showed transfers from Paypal into his checking account, and they counted that as monthly income. He tried to explain that he'd sold everything he had left on eBay, and there was nothing left to sell, but the caseworker wouldn't listen. Contrary to popular myth, it's quite difficult for anyone with any assets at all to get onto welfare:

People are barely hanging on by their fingernails. Not everyone is walking away from their now, over-priced, mortgages. I have friends and family members that are kept awake at night trying to figure out how to pay the simplest of bills: electricity, mortgage or rent, water and of course put food on the table and gas in the car to go to work....that is, if they still have their jobs. People are giving back their vehicles that they still owe money on and are buying what I call 'beaters' just to get around. As long as it runs, its great...right?

Wrong. The Middle Class has been the backbone of our nation for decades upon decades. They were the ones buying homes, cars, RV's, flat screen tv's, etc. and never blinking an eye when the bills came due...they just paid them like they were raised to do.  They are the consumers that retail sales depend on.

Problem was/is, they were not saving for this 'rainy day' we call The Recession. No one was it seems...

Next week, the emergency welfare funding for states will end. Since the Welfare program is run by each state differently, its hard to gauge how this will affect our citizenry.

But we are going to find out since Congress has put off this issue until next fucking year.

There are 105 vacant judicial seats in Federal Courts..now.

The Chief Judge for the Northern District of California is retiring at the end of the year, his name is Vaughn R. Walker. Who will fill his shoes? Good question as Obama has a chance to stock the Federal courts with fair, balanced judges and so far he hasn't done shit, as there are over one hundred vacancies at this very moment. So, who will fill the enormous shoes of Vaughn Walker? The sad and pitiful truth is probably nobody because Barack Obama has displayed a shocking and reckless disdain for his duty to stock and replenish the Federal Judiciary (see here and here). There are currently 105 Federal judicial seats vacant, and that is not including Vaughn Walker’s yet; and a grand total of 48 nominees pending, with 25 of them pending in the Judiciary Committee and 23 having already been passed out of Judiciary and placed on the Senate Executive Calendar (although Harry Reid has not scheduled a floor vote for a single one of them).

I find this bullshit unconscionable. It's getting harder every day to find things or issues on which to support President Obama. It's also becoming flat out impossible for me to support any democrat running for federal office this November.

In a stunning alliance between Senate Democrats and Senate Republicans, Senate Democratic leadership quietly agreed Wednesday evening to block President Barack Obama from making recess appointments while senators return home to campaign for midterm elections, according to a Congressional newspaper.

The move involves Senate leadership holding "pro-forma" sessions of the Senate every Monday and Friday to prevent Obama from filling vacant senior federal positions. By holding sessions every few days, Obama can't slip his nominees through.

George Bush made plenty of fucking recess appointments during his eight years...so it begs the following question to be posed to the morons with a "D" after their name:
