As the Shrub made his FIRST speech to the NAACP since he has been in office, he touted the passage of the Voting Rights Act through the House and vowed to have it pass through the Senate, WITHOUT an amendment the racists are attempting to add. You can capture the gist of his speech here. One quote I would love to leave you with however is this:
"I come from a family committed to civil rights," Mr. Bush said. "My faith tells me that we are all children of God — equally loved, equally cherished, equally entitled to the rights He grants us all."
Its a wonder his nose didn't start growing ala Pinnochio, dont' you think? Perhaps he has forgotten that lovely quote his mother made shortly after the refugees from Katrina starting arriving in Astrodome:
“And so many of the people in the arenas here you know, were underprivileged anyway. This is working very well for them.”
