Kucinich Impeachment article to be read on the floor of the House today.

From a Kucinich email I got this morning:

This afternoon, at approximately 5 p.m. (EDT), the Clerk of the House of Representatives will give the first reading of the Article of Impeachment of President George Bush. Article One charges the President with deceiving Congress with fabricated threats of Iraq WMDs to fraudulently obtain support for an authorization of the use of military force against Iraq.

Once the Clerk reads the bill, I will move to refer the bill to the Judiciary Committee for hearings. I believe the American people have a right to an open airing of the charges against this President. Did he or did he not lie to take us into a war? I believe the evidence is overwhelming that President Bush knew that Iraq was not an imminent threat, was not in possession of WMDs at the time, and had nothing to do with 911 or with al Queda's role in 911. And yet, despite having facts to the contrary, he took the U.S. into war with devastating consequences for our troops, our nation, and the people of Iraq. Congress must hold hearings.

It's a little bit of history we can all watch. Hope all six of my readers will check it out on Cspan.

Update: The House vote to move the Impeach Article to the Judiciary committee has passed! One Democrat voted no but 7 Republicans voted yes! Final vote total: Yeas-238 No-180

Praise Buddha! Although Conyers has already said they will only discuss the measure, they will not forward it out of committee.

Pelosi: House Judiciary may hold hearings on Kucinich impeachment resolution

Sweet Jesus in a speedo..can it be true? How did I miss this Thursday? Kucinich introduced another article of Impeachment and according to Politico and USA Today, Nan has stated hearings on the article might very well be held in the House Judiciary committee. The money quote:

"This is a Judiciary Committee matter, and I believe we will see some attention being paid to it by the Judiciary Committee,Not necessarily taking up the articles of impeachment because that would have to be approved on the floor, but to have some hearings on the subject. My expectation is that there will be some review of that in the committee,"

The video below is Kucinich's introduction of his latest article of Impeachment entitled: "Deceiving Congress with Fabricated Threats of Iraq WMDs to Fraudulently Obtain Support for an Authorization of the Use of Military Force Against Iraq". He introduced this article on Thursday after Nancy Pelosi made her statement. The video is short..a little over two minutes in length.

This is SUCH bullshit. Today's Rethug debate in Iowa had the yahoo Alan Keyes of all freaking people..but Kucinich wasn't allowed in Thursday's final Democratic debate in Iowa because:

He didn't open an office in the state with paid employees..only volunteers apparently. But Keyes? Hell I didn't even know that fuckwit was running, although according to Eugene Robinson tonight on Countdown Keyes runs every election cycle for President..its his only job apparently. Back to my man Kucinich, his office released the following statement regarding the horseshit excuse given him by the idiots in Iowa:

"The Iowa caucuses have been portrayed as having national implications, and if the Register has decided to use hair-splitting technicalities to exclude the leading voice of the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party, then the entire process is suspect,"

Christ, this pisses me off so bad..I am going to hunt down a bottle of wine shortly. The only question is..will Chardonnay go with homemade Chili? I hope that a million locust invade Iowa..wait..its winter..ok, I hope they get icestorms every day of the week this winter..real nasty ones..especially for the asshats that made this bone-headed decision to uninvite Kucinich.
