I blogged about this documentary a few months ago which you can read here. This film is from the trenches, and the soldiers themselves. No news crew, no talking heads, its theNational Guard soldiers themselves that filmed over 900 hours of horror, gore and life in Iraq during their tour which began in March 2004. Ten soldiers carried the cameras and focused on three of their buddies. Thier footage was pared down to a scant 98 minutes. Doesn't seem long enough to me,how can you explain whats going on over there in 98 minutes? But they try to..
It opens today. You can find the nearest showing here. It was directed by a woman who did NOT go to Iraq, but provided additional footage shot here in the US and gave the soldiers guidance. The Producer is Robert May who executive produced the Academy Award winning FOG OF WAR,about Mac the Knife and the Vietnam war.
