Female member of Iraqi government kidnapped off a main street in Baghdad

She was in the wrong part of town. She was a Sunni politician in a Shiite part of Baghdad. The member of Parliament was on her way to a parliamentary meeting when her 3 car convoy was stoppped at a civilian checkpoint/roadblock. By civilian I mean, it was not state-sanctioned. They asked for ID, saw who she was, and forced Tayseer Mashhadani and her bodyguards into an awaiting vehicle. There were 10 armed men at the roadblock using up to seven cars to block traffic.

This was in broad daylight..on a city street in Baghdad. The capital city of Iraq.

Whats wrong with this picture?

Tell me again how the insurgency is in its "last throes" Dick.
