S2590 is the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006, which will require the full disclosure of all companies and organizations that receive federal funds by directing the Office of Management and Budget to create a user-friendly database, searchable by the public, that would include information regarding each entity that receives federal funding, the amount received, how the money is being used, and where the entity is located.
This bill will help citizens keep tabs on who is getting what and how much of our tax dollars. This is a great law, and I do have to give the republican-led senate credit for its passage.
