"on several occasions, witness ("W") saw detainees ("ds") in interrogation rooms chained hand and foot in fetal position to floor w/no chair/ food/water; most urinated or defecated on selves, and were left there 18, 24 hrs or more. Once, the air conditioning was so low that the barefoot d was shaking with cold. Another time, it was off so the unventilated room was over 100 degrees, d was almost unconscious on floor with a pile of hair next to him (he had apparently been pulling it out throughout the night). Another time, it was sweltering hot and loud rap music played - d's hand and foot was chanined and he was in a fetal position on the floor. Upon inquiry, W was told that interrogators [military contractors] ordered this treatment. Took place in Delta Camp"
Take a look at these:

nothing shocks me anymore- should this worry me? this loss of innocence i suppose it natural given the circumstances. i hope that this info gets to the court in germany. i hope that congress gets its head out of its ass and starts impeachment and war crimes proceedings. if they can't do the war crimes thing, then repeal the goddamned patriot act and all of the other acts that are against the constitution. asap preferably. how long have these people been in office now? let's get it going.
I may go over to Miami for a big protest aimed at closing down Guantanamo. When I think of all the ugly stuff this administration has done, I just don't know where to start. It is dizzying. I, too hope this information makes it to the Hague and someday, if we are lucky, we will see the Bush perp walk.

Peacechick - good luck trying to do anything in Miami. I live there. Nobody cares about anything here. Really. Protest Guantanamo and more than likely some old farts from Alpha-66 will accuse you of being soft on Castro.

At least Peacechcik Mary wants to try to do soemthing. I;m not doing a hell of a lot. We did meet with Specter's people back when which is like trying to convince a lobster to go into the pot. Nobody wants to hear about the state of our nation or what we think about it.
They dont work for us, or care about the kind of country WE want. These excerpts are disgusting, and what does it accomplish? Forced cofnessions, useless intelligence? What? What gain?
Wish somebody at least had the decency to make a case for it. They got nothing. Its vengeance, its hate, its perhaps a way to vent and abuse under the ruse of being part of interrogation.

Got to find a happy medium between clusters of people holding candles and the anti-abortion placards showing chopped up babies...
The message has to be one that sears itself into the minds of those who come across the protest, while not immediately turning them off because it's too offensive.
How about pictures of soldiers and the administration with photoshoped images of ball gags, whips, handcuffs, power tools...all kinds of kinky leather stuff...replace the M-16s with various items...
That'd probably piss people off, but it would speak to their American minds...as fucked up as we all know they happen to be in general. Perhaps the Republican businessman who could care less about any of it would be affected by suddenly having to be reminded of the war during his weekly appointment with the mistress he's been paying to beat the hell out of him for the last ten years...
She's just worked an egg beater into his ass and suddenly...instead of the normal thoughts, he's faced with an image of George Bush holding a melting candle over the face of some arab...
He changes completely...stops seeing the mistress, joins the protest, lies to his wife only half as often as he had before.
I want a huge black and white photoshop of a detainee at gitmo, with the words..what if this was YOUR son?-printed in 100 sized font across the bottom.
I think it makes my point quite well...
Jose Padilla - - - his name will ring out in US History textbooks centuries from now. The unravelling of his story has just begun.
Jose Padilla might very well turn the tide when it comes to Gitmo and the bullshit happening there.
