On Morning Joe, which is a rightwing nutter-led show, Lawrence starts foaming at the mouth over the lies and obfuscation being spewed by the Bushie Mark Theissen…all the while Joey Scar is backing the Bushie Bullshit as laid down by Theissen. Calm down Larry, you are going to stroke out over these assholes..and it ain’t worth it as they will never tell the truth or admit that The Shrub fucked up everything he and The Big Dick Cheney™ touched.

8 years of Bush in 8 minutes...
Love this! From KO via TO:
George Walker Bush.
43rd president of the United States.
first ever with a criminal record.
our third story tonight,
his presidency: eight years in eight minutes.
early in 2001 the U.S. fingered Al Qaeda
for the bombing of the USS Cole
Bush counterterrorism adviser Richard Clarke
had a plan to take down Al Qaeda.
instead by February the NSC
had already discussed invading Iraq,
and had a plan for post-Saddam Iraq.
by March 5 Bush had a map ready for Iraqi oil exploration
and a list of companies.
Al Qaeda?
Rice told Clarke not to give Bush a lot of long memos.
not a big reader.
August 6, 2001
a CIA analyst briefs Bush on vacation:
"Bin Laden determined to strike in U.S."
Bush takes no action tells the briefer - quote
all right, you've covered your ass now.
next month Clarke requests
using new predator drones to kill Bin Laden
the Pentagon and CIA
say no.
September 11th
Bush remains seated for several minutes
to avoid scaring school children
by getting up and leaving.
he then flies around the country
and promises quote a full scale investigation to find
those folks who did it

Judge orders the big Dick Cheney to keep all his official records

And you just know that jerked his ever-lovin chain, which of course makes me smile my leftwing ass off. From WaPo:
A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction yesterday ordering Vice President Cheney and the National Archives to preserve all of his official records.
U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly's order came in response to a lawsuit filed this month by the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. The group, joined by several historians and open-government advocates, warned that Cheney might destroy or withhold important documents as the Bush administration winds down if he interprets the Presidential Records Act of 1978 as applying to only some of his official papers.
Of course the track record of this administration tells us he probably won't do it anyway...
Who the fuck does that bitch think she is anyway?

Ray McGovern to Colin Powell: Come clean dude

ConsortiumNews has an article up by the wonderful Ray McGovern. Ray is the man that spoke truth to power when BushCo was lying their way into the Iraq War. Ray spent an entire career working for the CIA as an analyst. He is also co-founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity. Ray has a few choice words for Colin Powell on how to restore his reputation. From the article:
Dear Colin,
You have said you regret the “blot” on your record caused by your parroting spurious intelligence at the U.N. to justify war on Iraq. On the chance you may not have noticed, I write to point out that you now have a unique opportunity to do some rehab on your reputation.
Ray then goes on to point out the obvious to Powell:
Your U.N. speech of Feb. 5, 2003 left me speechless, so to speak — largely because of the measure of respect I had had for you before then.
Outrage is too tame a word for what quickly became my reaction and that of my colleagues in Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), as we watched you perform before the Security Council less than six weeks before the unnecessary, illegal attack on Iraq.
The purpose — as well as the speciousness — of your address were all too transparent and, in a same-day commentary, we VIPS warned President George W. Bush that, if he attacked Iraq, “the unintended consequences are likely to be catastrophic.”
Catastrophic is an understatement. What happened is beyond catastrosphic to me. McGovern then goes on to list each lie perpetrated by either Powell or the smarmy idiots in the Bush Administration. He doesn't mince words and he backs up what he says. Its worth a read, so check out the entire article. Here is what McGovern suggests Colin Powell do:
Let me suggest that you offer yourself as a witness to help clear the air on these very important issues. This would seem the responsible, patriotic thing to do in the circumstances and could also have the salutary effect of beginning the atonement process for that day of infamy at the Security Council.
If we hear no peep out of you in the coming weeks, we shall not be able to escape concluding one of two things:
(1) That, as was the case with the White House Situation Room sessions on torture, you were a willing participant in suppressing/falsifying key intelligence on Iraq; or
(2) That you lack the courage to expose the scoundrels who betrayed not only you, but also that segment of our country and our world that still puts a premium on truth telling and the law.
Think about it.
With all due respect,
Ray McGovern
Its simple and straightforward isn't it? McGovern suggests Powell appear before Conyer's committee and tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Any bets on whether Powell will do it? My guess is no..how about yours?

Bush has breakfast w/Gathering of Eagles
Evidently Bush has no problem showing his support for mean, violent groups..just so long as they support his idiotic war. The Gathering of Idiots..oops, Eagles were invited to dine with Bush, Laura, Condi and the Big Dick Cheney three days after they went after Carlos Arredondo during the DC March. This post, written by Hannah Johns, originally appeared on After Downing Street
Chris Hill and Bush:

Chris Hill and Fellow Pro-Death Activist just following their attack on Arredondo:

What this shows us is that Bush is sending a message to these types of fuckwits... that he appreciates their violent tendencies and will reward them. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, since Bush was a mean child and as a adult has shown he doesn't give a rat's ass about the human cost of his War for Oil.

On September 18, 2007, three days after members of the pro-war Gathering of Eagles were involved in the verbal, then physical, attacks on Gold Star Father and war opponent Carlos Arredondo (and to a much lesser extent myself) at the march in DC, the president, Laura, Condi, Karen Hughes, and Darth Cheney hosted groups they deem supporting the troops at a breakfast on the south lawn of the Whitehouse. Here are three pictures which show that the administration is not too choosy in the terrorists it invites for eggs and bacon.
There is a photo of Chris Hill, 'National Director of Ops' for the Gathering of Eagles, with the prez himself, one of Chris Hill over Carlos during the altercation, and one just after as he distances himself from the police questioning. These people continue to encourage physical confrontation with those they disagree with, which now polls show is a strong majority. This was a wakeup for me. I didn't think that in public they would try to strongarm a middle-aged woman like myself. The verbal abuse they hurled at those who passed them by would have been reprehensible enough, but to follow up with ripping off (fallen US soldier) Alex Arredondo's photo, and the ensuing kicking of his father, was shocking. To me, anyway. I guess not to Bushco.

Zogby Poll: President sucks..congress sucks worse

The whole damn bunch of them suck is the basic premise of the newest Zogby poll. Both branches of the Federal Government received record low ratings..is anyone surprised?
Not moi my dear reader. Take a gander at what the Zogby poll has to say:
Only 29 percent of Americans gave Bush a positive grade for his job performance, below his worst Zogby poll mark of 30 percent in March. A paltry 11 percent rated Congress positively, beating the previous low of 14 percent in July. The Reuters/Zogby Index, a new measure of the mood of the country, dropped from 100 to 98.8 in the last month on worries about the economy and fears of a recession, pollster John Zogby said. "Since the last time we polled we have had the mortgage crisis, and we are hearing the recession word a whole lot more than we've heard it in the past," Zogby said.
Its a pretty pathetic bunch of worthless Asshats up there on Capitol Hill ain't it? For Congress to receive such a rating screams volumes about how worthless and spineless they are for me. The President of course could give a rat's ass about his rating..its been in the toilet for years now.
Now, Zogby also does something called an "Index". It addresses how American's feel about the country and their lives in general. This monthly index rises and dips, no surprize there..but this month...well, its not good my dear reader. From the Zogby writeup in the same link as above:
The Index, which debuts this month, combines responses to 10 questions on Americans' views about their leaders, the direction of their country and their personal situations. Polling for the Index began in July, and that month's results provide the benchmark score of 100. A score above 100 indicates the country's mood has improved since July. A score below 100, like the one recorded in September, shows the nation's mood getting worse. The RZI, which will be released the third Wednesday of each month, had remained at 100 in August. "The public mood is not just dark. What's darker than dark?" Zogby said. "The mood is getting ugly." The national survey of 1,011 likely voters, taken September 13 through September 16, found barely one-quarter of Americans, or 27 percent, believe the country is headed in the right direction. Nearly 62 percent think the country is on the wrong track.
Congress can't get 60 votes to restore Habeas Corpus or give the soldiers more time to mend from the horrors of war..but 60+% of Americans don't have a problem registering their complaints and fears about a worsening economy or that we as a nation are on the wrong friggin track.

Accountability? We don't need no stinking Accountability!
Slate has a good read up this morning by Tim Grieve. Its called: Accountability? Libby?Gonzales? Let me tell you about 9/11. Mr. Grieve delves into the Asshat-in-Chief's press conference yesterday and the responses to some of the questions he ducked. The question regarding accountability was one the Jerkwad-in-Chief took pains to spin, in his best Roveian spin:"Lewis Libby was held accountable, Bush said. "He was declared guilty by a jury. He paid a high price for it. Al Gonzales -- implicit in your question is that Al Gonzales did something wrong. I haven't seen Congress say he's done anything wrong. As a matter of fact, I believe we're watching a political exercise. I mean, this is a man who has testified. He sent thousands of, you know, papers up there. There's no proof of wrong. Why would I hold somebody accountable who's done nothing wrong? "Frankly, I think that's a typical Washington, D.C., assumption -- not to be accusatory. I know that you're a kind, open-minded fellow, but you suggested holding the attorney general accountable for something he did wrong. And, as a matter of fact, I hope Congress would become more prone to delivering pieces of legislation that matter as opposed to being the investigative body." The reporter tried again. "Given the decision to commute the sentence of Libby, given the performance of Iraqi leaders, is it fair for people to ask questions about your commitment to accountability?"
Isn't that special my dear reader? I think not..I think we are doomed with this jackass at the helm. Someone send him a bag of Pretzels and a fifth of Jack Daniels please!
