Cheney, who has no heart, gets new mechanical one.

Not that I give a shit, but with the crap I have dealt with lately... I actually got a smile on my face when MSNBC reported this a few minutes ago:
Former Vice President Dick Cheney has had a pump assistance device implanted in his heart.

Here's a statement from Cheney:

As many of you know, I have dealt with coronary artery disease for decades, suffering my first heart attack in 1978 at age 37. Over the years, excellent care from my doctors and advances in medicine and technology have allowed me to live a full and active life, for which I am very grateful.

A few weeks ago, it became clear that I was entering a new phase of the disease when I began to experience increasing congestive heart failure. After a series of recent tests and discussions with my doctors, I decided to take advantage of one of the new technologies available and have a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implanted. The LVAD is a small implantable pump that improves heart function and will enable me to resume an active life.

Last week I underwent surgery at Inova Fairfax Heart and Vascular Institute and had an LVAD implanted. The operation went very well and I am now recuperating.

I am grateful for the wonderful care that I have received over the years at George Washington University Hospital, and that I am currently receiving at Inova Fairfax Heart and Vascular Institute.

I also want to thank all of you who have included my family and me in your thoughts and prayers.
Actually, you fucking bag of shit...I have prayed for your demise for years...I want your ass in hell..which is where you belong.

UPDATE: On the Maddow Show tonight Dr. Allan Stewart, cardiac surgeon, New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia confirms Cheney has no pulse...no shit dude...what was your first clue?  Of course he used the word now during his discussion with Rachel but I submit to you, m'dear reader, that he never has had one.

Judge orders the big Dick Cheney to keep all his official records

And you just know that jerked his ever-lovin chain, which of course makes me smile my leftwing ass off. From WaPo:
A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction yesterday ordering Vice President Cheney and the National Archives to preserve all of his official records.

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly's order came in response to a lawsuit filed this month by the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. The group, joined by several historians and open-government advocates, warned that Cheney might destroy or withhold important documents as the Bush administration winds down if he interprets the Presidential Records Act of 1978 as applying to only some of his official papers.

Of course the track record of this administration tells us he probably won't do it anyway...

Who the fuck does that bitch think she is anyway?(snark alert)

Ron Suskind releases transcripts of convo's with former CIA officials..

The officials that discussed Cheney's forging documents.

No shit...

His website states:

A note to readers

I've decided to post a partial transcript of one of a number of taped conversations in which Rob Richer and I discussed, on the record, the Habbush letter. We discussed it many times through the spring of 2008.

Rob Richer received a copy of The Way of the World on Monday night, August 4, the day before publication. On Tuesday, he said he had read key portions of the book and was comfortable with what they contained. Later that day, though, he issued the following the statement:

"I never received direction from George Tenet or anyone else in my chain of command to fabricate a document from Habbash as outlined in Mr Suskind's book."

The conversation below took place in June 2008. As in all of our conversations, it shows Rob pressing to get at truth and embrace probity.

This posting is contrary to my practice across 25 years as a journalist. But the issues, in this matter, are simply too important to stand as discredited in any way.

--Ron Suskind

I have to get the B&C's new Vista computer up and running. I won't be able to read the transcript until later...if someone else reads it...leave the cliff notes in the comments section ok? Thanks!

McClellan to testify willingly on PlameGate

Wow wee..the man really is tossing BushCo under the bus and backing up over 'it' isn't he? From TO via AP:

President Bush's former spokesman, Scott McClellan, will testify before a House committee next week about whether Vice President Dick Cheney ordered him to make misleading public statements about the leaking of CIA agent Valerie Plame's identity. McClellan will testify publicly and under oath before the House Judiciary Committee on June 20 about the White House's role in the leak and its response, his attorneys, Michael and Jane Tigar, said on Monday. (emphasis mine)

If he could hang the Big Dick Cheney out to dry on this issue alone..I might even applaud ol Scotty. Seriously...

Wexler says the "I" word on the floor of The House

Watch this powerful video from ThinkProgress via Alternet.I love this man for his grit and spunk. His Impeachment Petition is on my sidebar..please take a couple of seconds and sign it if you believe the Big Dick Cheney should be impeached. It's worse than Watergate he says on the video and he is spot-fucking-on..From the ThinkProgress writeup;

On Tuesday night, Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL) took to the House floor to urge the House Judiciary Committee to begin impeachment hearings into Vice President Cheney for "high crimes and misdemeanors." Wexler, who has already acquired nearly 190,000 supporters through his website, explained his next steps:

Tomorrow, I will deliver these names to my colleagues on the Judiciary Committee with a letter to my friend, Chairman Conyers, calling for hearings. I will ask my colleagues to sign this letter … Continuing every day for months, I will publish in the Congressional Record several thousand names of supporters who signed up.

History demands that we take action, because the case against Vice President Cheney is far stronger than the illegality surrounding Watergate.

If you believe this action is needed(and what progressive doesn't?), please forward this video, or post it on your website with the link to Wexler's Petition website.

Wexler's Impeach petition hits 100k in signatures.

The site started up just a few days ago, and baby..its taken off! From Democrats.com:

Wexler's goal was 50,000 signatures but with your support, Wexler's petition passed 100,000!(105736 as of 8:30 pm leftcoast time)

These 7 voted to kill Kucinich's bill on 11/6, so they need to CHANGE their positions and fulfill their oath of office to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign AND domestic: Howard Berman (CA-28), Artur Davis (AL-07), William Delahunt (MA-10), Zoe Lofgren (CA-16), Jerrold Nadler (NY-08), Linda Sanchez (CA-39), and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-20).

Please email all House Judiciary Democrats through this petition:
http://www.democrats.com/topelosiandjudiciary

http://www.wexlerwantshearings.com

Wexler is thrilled with your response, and he will hold a virtual town hall meeting on Thursday at 9 pm ET (6 pm PT) on Florida Progressive Radio with Kenneth Quinnell, co-hosted by Democrats.com.
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/fpc

Wexler has the support of two Judiciary Committee Democrats, Luis Gutierrez (IL-04) and Tammy Baldwin (WI-02). Five others are co-sponsors of H.Res. 333/H.Res. 799, Rep. Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment for Vice President Cheney: Steve Cohen (TN-09), Keith Ellison (MN-05), Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18), Hank Johnson (GA-04), and Maxine Waters (CA-35).

But that leaves 13 Judiciary Committee Democrats who have NOT called for impeachment hearings. These 6 voted to send Kucinich's bill to Judiciary on 11/6, so they should publicly support Wexler's efforts: John Conyers (MI-14), Bobby Scott (VA-03), Brad Sherman (CA-27), Betty Sutton (OH-13), Mel Watt (NC-12), and Anthony Weiner (NY-09).

It won't take you more than a second or two folks..sign the petition on Wexlers's site..what do you have to lose?

Pelosi calls Cheney a Dick..and I don't mean Richard..

Graphic filched from DarkBlack.

Well, truthfully..she didn't call him a dick..but I bet she did in private. After the Big Dick's speech-i-fying the other day..Nancy got her panties in a wad according to Politico:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says a swipe that Vice President Cheney took at Democratic House leaders is "beneath the dignity of his office."

Now, personally, I don't think Nan has a lot of room to talk. She who refuses to impeach these bastids for high crimes and misdemeanors. In fact, I would go so far as to say..Nan..you really are the kettle calling the pot black..bitch.

Cheney and his Reagan moment...

Didn't mean to abandon my blog but the week hasn't been the best one for the most part..unless you count having lunch w/ my dear friend Bluegrrrl from PeaceTrain. We had a long lunch and guess what we talked about..go on..guess...

BLOGGING, BLOGS and BLOGGERS.

We did talk politics too, after all, we are political bloggers and God knows BushCo gives us all plenty to blog about..such as this one..

The Big Dick Cheney had the nads to actually lie his ever-loving ass off on TV again, about Hillary's letter. That wasn't the biggest lie however...his "I do not recall" moment regarding whether he sent Abu Gonzales to Ashcroft's bed was the highlight I think. Oh, I also choked on my water when I read this part of the Editor and Publisher piece:

He also admitted, for the first time, that his 2005 comment about the "last throes" of the insurgency in Iraq had been far off base: "My estimate at the time -- and it was wrong, it turned out to be incorrect -- was the fact that we were in the midst of holding three elections in Iraq, elected an interim government, then ratifying a constitution, then electing a permanent government, that they had had significant success, we'd rounded up Saddam Hussein. "I thought there were a series of these milestones that would in fact undermine the insurgency and make it less than it was at that point. That clearly didn't happen. I think the insurgency turned out to be more robust."

Oh please, you lying sack of batshit..gimme a freaking break. The E&P article also has the transcript of the "hospital visit" part of the interview..it's short..check it out and see how many times in the span of two questions he says I DO NOT RECALL. Or, if you don't want an Excedrine headache..don't..it's your choice my dear reader.

Bush getting a medical procedure, Cheney to run the Country

Damn, could Cheney get the opportunity to launch a nuke attack on Iran this Saturday? Per MSNBC:

President Bush will undergo a "routine" colonoscopy Saturday and temporarily hand presidential powers over to Vice President Dick Cheney, White House press secretary Tony Snow said.

Snow told reporters Friday that Bush will have the procedure done at his Camp David, Md., mountaintop retreat.

The last time Bush had colon and rectal cancer surveillance was on June 29, 2002. Doctors then advised him to have another colonoscopy in five years.

You KNOW Cheney wants to nuke Iran. This is his chance..

President admits administration leaked Plames name

In a stunning disclosure today, King George had this to say today about PlameGate:

President Bush on Thursday acknowledged publicly for the first time that someone in his administration likely leaked the name of a CIA operative, although he also said he hopes the controversy over his decision to spare prison for a former White House aide has "run its course."

"And now we're going to move on," Bush said in a White House news conference.

Right..we will forget it and move on..sweet Jesus on a Ritz..wtf? Pardon me dude but thats a heavy-duty admission coming out of your lying ass. Oh, then there is this:

Bush would not directly address answer a question about whether he is disappointed in the White House officials who leaked Plame's name.

"I'm aware of the fact that perhaps somebody in the administration did disclose the name of that person," Bush said. "I've often thought about what would have happened if that person had come forth and said, 'I did it.' Would we have had this endless hours of investigation and a lot of money being spent on this matter? But, so, it's been a tough issue for a lot of people in the White House. It's run its course and now we're going to move on."

Yep, he saved the ass of his pals and sorry bout your luck Valerie Plame but there are other more important things than keeping our governments secrets in the name of political gain to address.

He then prattled on about Scooters upcoming pardon by saying: "As to the future, I rule nothing in and nothing out,"

Oh no kidding. This is a shocker. And he says it all with a straight face. The stench of arrogance had to be strong in that room, I am telling you.

And that my dear reader is your BushCo moment for today.

Even Fred Fielding admits the LIbby verdict was sound.

From Newsweek:

But Fielding, one of the advisers tells NEWSWEEK, reluctantly concluded that the jury had reached a reasonable verdict: the evidence was strong that Libby testified falsely about his role in the leak.

So, my dear reader..even the Decider-in-Chief's own counsel said it was a just verdict..why then did he commute Libby's sentence?

The Big Dick Cheney.

Yes sportsfans..the big dick cheney was highly pissed about the ruling and therein lies the reason. An unnamed source within the Oval Office said this, according to the Newsweek article: "I'm not sure Bush had a choice," says one of the advisers. "If he didn't act, it would have caused a fracture with the vice president."

Sounds like a little boy that didn't want to feel the wrath of his daddy doesn't it? Sure does to me. Sick bastards. May they all rot in hell with Jerry Falwell. The jury's decision was the right one...the Shrubs..no way in hell.

Why is the Executive Branch 'above' the law?

This is a nation of laws. It is not a dictatorship, an aristocracy, autocracy, juntocracy or monarchy.

Yet the White House says the president's own order on classified data does not apply to his office or the vice president's. WTF people? According to an LAT piece:

The White House said Friday that, like Vice President Dick Cheney's office, President Bush's office is not allowing an independent federal watchdog to oversee its handling of classified national security information.

An executive order that Bush issued in March 2003 — amending an existing order — requires all government agencies that are part of the executive branch to submit to oversight. Although it doesn't specifically say so, Bush's order was not meant to apply to the vice president's office or the president's office, a White House spokesman said.

They spit in our face and then laugh. What balls these mutha fucka's have. To quote a line from the Executive Order: "Our democratic principles require that the American people be informed of the activities of their government,"--Just not the actual Executive Branch I guess..they can do whatever the hell they want.

Bush and Cheney are not above accountability. They are not above the laws.

Vile, fucking. pricks.

Cheney states rules don't apply to him. LOL

WTF is this old fucker smoking? From ABC News:

Vice President Dick Cheney has asserted his office is not a part of the executive branch of the U.S. government, and therefore not bound by a presidential order governing the protection of classified information by government agencies, according to a new letter from Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., to Cheney.

Bill Leonard, head of the government's Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO), told Waxman's staff that Cheney's office has refused to provide his staff with details regarding classified documents or submit to a routine inspection as required by presidential order, according to Waxman.

In pointed letters released today by Waxman, ISOO's Leonard twice questioned Cheney's office on its assertion it was exempt from the rules. He received no reply, but the vice president later tried to get rid of Leonard's office entirely, according to Waxman.

Leonard did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

In a statement e-mailed to the Blotter on ABCNews.com, Cheney spokeswoman Megan McGinn said, "We are confident that we are conducting the office properly under the law.”

As director of the tiny, 25-person Information Security Oversight Office, Leonard is responsible for keeping track of the nation's secrets and making sure they are properly protected.

For the first two years of the George W. Bush administration, Cheney's office complied with a presidential order that requires officials to report statistics on the number of documents it classifies and declassifies.

Since 2003, however, Cheney's office has refused to submit the data to ISOO. And when ISOO inspectors tried in 2004 to schedule a routine inspection of the vice president's offices, they were rebuffed, Waxman's letter claims.

Other White House offices, including the National Security Council, did not object to similar inspections, according to Waxman.

"Serious questions can be raised about both the legality and advisability of exempting your office from the rules that apply to all other executive branch officials," Waxman said in his letter to the vice president, and asked him to explain why he felt the rules didn't apply to him and his staff and how he was protecting classified information in his office.

Former Cheney aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was recently convicted on several counts of perjury and obstruction of justice stemming from the leak of the identity of former covert CIA officer Valerie Plame, Waxman noted, and in 2006, former Cheney aide Leandro Aragoncillo pleaded guilty to sharing classified U.S. documents with foreign nationals. Aragoncillo also worked under former Democratic Vice President Al Gore, who complied with ISOO's requests.
