GOP eats it own Presidential candidate, the one closest to the center of course.

Eye of Newt was trying to be less rightwing nutter and more centrist, or even....gasp..moderate when he was on Meet the Press (transcript here) this past weekend. The money quote that is getting more press than anything else I think he said Sunday:
"I don't think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering."
According to most if not all political pundits, his run for the Presidency is over, less than a week after he started. That was all that was talked about today on the MSNBC political shows and probably all other news network shows. At least it was the prime story of the day for Tweety, Cenk. O'Donnell, Maddow, Ed and all the rest of the early day/evening shows on MSNBC. The biggest video of the day was Eye of Newt doing a handshake campaign and a rightwing nutter holding on to his hand as Newt tried to escape..all the while, the guy was tearing into Newt. Of course he was an Iowa voter, the most rightwing nutter group of all Republican voters:

I actually feel sorry for the fuckwit I call Eye of Newt. He sounded like more of a centrist Republican than ANYONE else running or threatening to run for President in that party of Corporate Ass-kissers. He sounded sane and logical, for a Republican...which of course pissed off the teabaggers and anyone else that wants to take the Republican party as far right as possible...like just about everyone with an R behind their name lately or that is a mouthpiece for the extremist rightwing ideology..aka Limbaugh and the all the rightwing pundits on tv, radio and in print. Fox News went batshit over it all day I believe..since I don't watch than non-news, Republican talking points only, station I can't say for absolute certainty..ok? For a catch-all of everyone that took a shot at Eye of Newt, including the dipshit emeritus Charles Krauthammer check out this link from this morning's FirstRead or just Google  Republican reaction to Newt Gingrich on Meet the Press.

His other big boo-boo? Taking Paul Ryan's bullshit idea of ending Medicare as we know it, and calling it " too big a change". All the rightwing fuckwits are of course taking this phrase as heresy. So, when he said, and I quote:
I don't think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate.
All the nutters took it personal and said he was calling Ryan's entire plan radical.

Well, it fucking IS radical and not to the good..Christ, you don't have to be a damn rocket scientist to see that in Ryan's budget 'plan' as he slashes programs that help the sick, poor, elderly, etc and then actually gives another tax break to the uber rich.

They, the rightwing elected and the rightwing pundits, were probably pissing down both legs I suspect when they either read or heard Eye of Newt say both sets of phrases above.

He called Paul Ryan and begged for forgiveness. Eye of Newt is now pulling a Palin saying it was a 'Gotcha' question and taken out of context. He is blaming those damn liberals too.

No jackass, it wasn't. Read the fucking text of your little sitdown w/ David Gregory. You couldn't shut the fuck up. You didn't answer in sentences, you answered in paragraphs you friggin moron.  You have been on that show 35-fucking-times..I am quite sure you are used to how it works and how questions are framed.

You, Mr. Eye of Newt Gingrich, are a liar and a pussy. A pussy in the fact that you refuse to stand up to the racists, the Corporate ass-kissers and the haters of your own party. A pussy in the fact that you refuse to stand by Your Own Words.

And that makes you a pathetic fuck in my book.

Say Good Bye Newt, your campaign is over according to pretty much anyone that has an opinion on you and your 5th run or 10th run for President of the United States..its been so many, I forget the total number.

Ayn was so full of sh*t- bet her eyes were brown.

The rightwingers really love the hell out of....cough..so-called philosopher, but really just a fucking novelist with only two big sellers, Ayn Rand. Personally, I think the broad was nothing more than a rich, uppity cunt that thought the majority of the world was there to make her and her buddies in the Corporatocracy more money.

The idiot that started our financial slide into hell, Alan Greenspan, was a friend and follower of Rands btw. She later cast him aside after he went to work for the gasp...government.  Matt Taibbi says it best for me in the latest Alternet Q&A with him regarding his new book:
She was this great novelist who wrote all these very ponderous long novels like The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. The general theme of all of them was that there were two classes of people: the producers and the parasites. In her books, the producers were the great industrial figures who actually created businesses and commercial empires, and everybody was somehow feeding off of them. You were either making something, or you were a parasite. That ethos is still very much alive; it’s part of the Tea Party rhetoric. They talk about “water carriers and water drinkers” and split the world up into those two categories. Greenspan actually spent a lot of time with Rand, they had these little tea parties at her house, and he was under her tutelage. He was one of her protégés who directly carried the flame for her religion. But it was ironic that he ended up being the chief regulator of the economy that had been an anathema to everything that she believed, being a government regulator. Yet he somehow did it and didn’t feel contradicted about it.
The religion of Ayn Rand...how telling is that? Talk about class warfare, that nasty cunt believed in two classes, the have's and have not's who's only goal in life should be to service the rich...or as she thought of them...the producers. I got a good view of how popular this cunt has become by reading this article entitled: 10 Shameless Right-Wing Tributes to Ayn Rand That Should Make Any Sane Person Blush. The article points out that since it seems the religious wingers are taking a backseat to the teabaggers now, Rand has been elevated to the pinnacle of Nutterville, thanks to the likes of Glen Beck and other alum's of Nutter U. The article identifies Rand's followers as Randroids...I love it! Here is an interesting passage:

An excellent example is this March 2010 nugget from the Christian Science Monitor: "Apple vs. GM: Ayn Rand knew the difference. Do you?"

You may wonder what "Apple vs. GM" means. (God help us, not an iCar!) But Yaron Brook and Don Watkins of the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights aren't talking about anything so dull as a market conflict -- they're talking about a moral struggle between "producers" like Apple -- those few, sterling individuals who wrest value from the earth -- and "looters" like GM, whom they describe as "pseudobusinessmen" whose "business isn't business, but political pull."

You'd think Brook and Watkins could find better examples of looters than GM -- Enron, say, or Goldman Sachs, or Jack Abramoff. But Randroids are generally quiet when such people use political pull to amplify profit, even illegally. (In fact, way back in the scandal-ridden days of 2002, USA Today did a story about suits who found themselves harassed by "prosecutors, regulators" and "a Republican president"; these poor, rattled execs read Ayn Rand, USA Today said, to "remind themselves that self-interest is not only the right thing to do from an economic standpoint but is moral, as well.")
Apple has it's products manufactured in China. This is interesting to me since Apple computers are the most expensive fuckers on the market.  HP also manufactures most of it's systems overseas as well, but at least I can friggin afford one of those. GM manufactures all but 15% of their vehicles in the US and all Enron ever did was drive the price of electricity through the fucking roof...But back to the Randroids...They have been waiting forever for the movie version of Atlas Shrugged. Well, it went from a major studio $70 million dollar production with Angelina Jolie to an indy version with a paltry budget of $5 million bucks. Again, from the Alternet 10 Shameless tributes  writeup:
The $5 million project is now only part one of a proposed Atlas Shrugged trilogy (the three parts to be titled Atlas Shrugs, Atlas Takes a Load Off and Atlas Shows All You Bastards, presumably). Mediaite's Frances Martel is dazzled: "The progress on the set of Atlas Shrugged," she gushes, is really "a much more important story to both pop culture and the political world" than, say, the recent Shirley Sherrod scandal, which the damn liberal media chose to follow instead "because race is a sexy thing to cover," unlike wonkish subjects like Hollywood movies.
I rest my case...the Randroids are such fuckwads, it gives me a migraine just thinking about them and their allegiance to Rand and her self-absorbed bullshit that masquerades as philosophy.  Besides, if Limbaugh, Beck and other extreme rightwing nutters quote this woman, it shows you how fucked up she really was.

O'Donnell's former assistants confirm her batshit crazy status.

I picked this out just for her
For a complete, up-to-date list of this idiots..cough.. beliefs and fuck-ups, check out Think Progress here.

More on the never-ending fuckery of our batshit crazy of the week, Christine O'Donnell. From Politico:
But none were more surprised then the staffers who worked for O’Donnell in 2008, when she made the second of two prior unsuccessful bids for the Senate.

The tea party giant-killer who knocked off Rep. Mike Castle  Tuesday is barely recognizable to them. They remember a candidate who was less interested in conservative causes than scoring a television deal, one who suggested dodging campaign vendors, believed she could give the keynote speech at the Republican National Convention and fixated on a harebrained idea to distribute tens of thousands of two-ounce suntan lotion packets to voters.

*snip*

Kristin Murray, who left her position in the state party to serve as one of several campaign managers for O’Donnell during that race, said warning bells went off in June 2008 when the two were discussing cell phone plans.

"She told me that she thought Joe Biden tapped her phone line," she said.

Alan Moore, who worked on press releases and policy statements for two months during the 2008 bid and now helps run the conservative site Townhall.com, said his conversations with the candidate led him to believe "her priorities were completely out of whack."
There is much more so check out the writeup. Isn't it great when the GOP eats their own? And the gist of the article, for me, is that she really wants what Palin got....lucrative tv contracts and money....lots and lots of money.

These people would not be coming from 1000's of  miles away if there weren't any jobs!!! They come up here and work for shit wages that NO american will do for the wages paid.

News headlines that will piss you off...

At least they did me. Here we go:
Bart Stupak is grinning like a fool over this one, DHHS limits abortion funding for new high-risk insurance pools.

I realize Politico is a rightwing rag for the most part...but this is Fox News-like yellow journalism at it's best. What the Politico Web site deletes from its articles without telling anyone.
If you have ever lost a loved-one to this shit or suffer from it's deadly consequences yourself, I am quite sure this article will really jerk your chain. Lobbyists push use of deadly asbestos in developing nations.
If none of those articles get to you...then you must be a rightwing nutter and a Batshit Bachmann/Teabagger supporter.

The first and third ones really, really piss-me-the-fuck-off. That they still manufacture asbestos is criminal to me. That they want to use that friggin shit in countries already suffering is outrageous. They want the poor and high-risk people to pay for their own legal medical procedures is fuckwitted, selfish, innane and disgusting. They preach and preach about forgiveness...but when people make mistakes and try to fix them...wtf assholes? See Alex Trebek and buy a fucking clue you jerkwads.

Liz Cheney- douchebag McCarthyite

This nasty skank really takes the cake. She has the audacity to go after the lawyers who upheld their oath and provided the best representation they could for their clients.  She is a lawyer and therefore very familiar with the oath. The following video from Friday's Countdown show, hosted by Lawrence O'Donnell, highlights military minds from the Bush administration that believe this skank is so full of shit...her damn eyes better be brown.

Folks on the right are also duly pissed about the video produced by Lizard Cheney's website, Keep America Safe. One of the Powerline bloggers Paul Mirengoff wrote a piece about this heinous horseshit, although he did detract some of what he wrote later. John Bellinger III, legal advisor to Condi Rice has also weighed in on this fuckery:

“I think it’s unfortunate that these individuals are being criticized for their past representation. It reflects the politicization and the polarization of terrorism issues," Bellinger said. "Neither Republicans nor Democrats should be attacking officials in each other’s administrations based solely on the clients they have represented in the past.”

“We’ve had a long-standing tradition in our country for lawyers to represent unpopular causes, and they shouldn’t be attacked for doing so," Bellinger added.

Peter D. Keisler, who headed the Civil Division of the Justice Department under the Bush43 administration, has also defended the attorneys in a piece printed by the NYTimes:

“There is a longstanding and very honorable tradition of lawyers representing unpopular or controversial clients,” Mr. Keisler said. “The fact that someone has acted within that tradition, as many lawyers, civilian and military, have done with respect to people who are accused of terrorism – that should never be a basis for suggesting that they are unfit in any way to serve in the Department of Justice.”

I have no problem with the request to name the attorneys, it's called transparency, but what jerks my chain is the sliming of these attorneys as the "Al-Qaeda 7". It's a purely political motivation on the part of Cheney and her co-horts in slime. Even Ted Olsen, Bush43's Solicitor General, and widower, who's wife was killed on 9/11 and the lead attorney for The Shrub in Bush v Gore, wrote (pdf) a scathing piece in the Legal Times in 2007 about the witch hunt for lawyers that represented Gitmo detainees. HuffPo has more on Mr. Olsen's pov along with the reprint of the LT piece. A few quotes from Mr Olsen  and Mr. Neal Katyal's 2007 article, which rings as true today as it did in 2007:

"The ethos of the bar is built on the idea that lawyers will represent both the popular and the unpopular, so that everyone has access to justice. Despite the horrible Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, this is still proudly held as a basic tenet of our profession," Olson wrote.

"When government officials are called 'war criminals' and when public-interest lawyers are called 'terrorist huggers,' it not only cheapens the discourse, it scrambles the dialogue. The best solutions to these difficult problems will emerge only when the best advocates, backed by weighty resources, bring their talents to bear. And the heavy work of creating solutions for these complicated issues can only move forward when the name-calling ceases."

*Snip*

"One of the wisest things the administration did after Sept. 11 was to permit lawyers to do their jobs in defending detainees," he and Katyal wrote. "From the enormously talented judge advocates general who directly represented Guantánamo detainees to the hundreds of private practitioners who took on individual cases, they have upheld our best principles by providing a vigorous defense. Patriotism is believing that the American system, not whim and insult, will reach the right results." (emphasis mine)

That last line should be engraved in stone, in my humble yet vocal opinion. The ABA (American Bar Association) has weighed in on the video as well, from TPM Muckraker:

In response to the Liz Cheney Web ad that questions the loyalty of lawyers who have represented Guantanamo detainees, the president of the American Bar Association said it is "a divisive and diversionary tactic" to impugn "the character of lawyers who have sought to protect the fundamental rights of unpopular clients."

In a statement to TPMmuckraker, ABA President Carolyn Lamm said that lawyers have an ethical obligation to "provide representation to people who otherwise would stand alone against the power and resources of the government--even to those accused of heinous crimes against this nation in the name of causes that evoke our contempt."

Lamm added: "The American people understand this obligation, and the corollary principle that representing a client is a commitment to a legal system that requires justice, not to any one client's political, economic, social or moral views or activities."

So fuck you Liz Cheney and the burro you rode in on. If brilliant minds on the right lambast your fuckwitted ass for this politically-motivated shit...you sincerely deserve it..and I hope you rot in hell sooner than later, ya worthless cunt.

And take Charles the douchenozzle Grassley with you.

Billionaire brothers spend millions to stop ‘the liberal agenda’.

These men rape the earth and make billions doing it. Their father founded the John Birch Society. I don’t give a tinker’s damn how much they give to the Smithsonian or any other non-profit, non-political organization, they are pond scum because they lie to the public at large and they finance the extreme rightwing nutter factory. From The Progress Report:

Billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch are the wealthiest, and perhaps most effective, opponents of President Obama’s progressive agenda. They have been looming in the background of every major domestic policy dispute this year. Ranked as the 9th richest men in America, the Koch brothers sit at the helm of Koch Industries, a massive privately owned conglomerate of manufacturing, oil, gas, and timber interests. They are best known for their wealth, as well as for their generous contributions to the arts, cancer research, and the Smithsonian Institute. But David and Charles are also responsible for a vicious attack campaign aimed directly at obstructing and killing progressive reform. Over the years, millions of dollars in Koch money has flowed to various right-wing think tanks, front groups, and publications. At the dawn of the Obama presidency, Koch groups quickly maneuvered to try to stop his first piece of signature legislation: the stimulus. The Koch-funded group “No Stimulus” launched television and radio ads deriding the recovery package as simply “pork” spending. The Cato Institute — founded by Charles — as well as other Koch-funded think tanks like the Heritage Foundation, produced a blizzard of reports distorting the stimulus and calling for a return to Bush-style tax cuts to combat the recession. As their fronts were battling the stimulus, David’s Americans for Prosperity (AFP) spent the opening months of the Obama presidency placing calls and helping to organize the very first “tea party” protests. AFP, founded in 1984 by David and managed day to day by the astroturf lobbyist Tim Phillips, has spent much of the year mobilizing “tea party” opposition to health reform, clean energy legislation, and financial regulations.

STOPPING CLEAN ENERGY: David Koch presents himself as a champion of science. Next year, because of his donations, a wing of the Smithsonian will be named after him. Nevertheless, Koch has done more to undermine the public’s understanding of climate change science than any other person in America. The Competitive Enterprise Institute, funded in part by Koch foundations, has waged an underhanded campaignHot Air” tour, a nationwide roadshow using a balloon to depict climate change science as “hot air.” Despite the brothers’ extravagant wealth, Koch’s Americans for Prosperity has run populist ads mocking environmentalists as spoiled brats more concerned about their “three homes and five cars” than about economic conditions. In addition to its efforts to misinform the public, Koch Industries has spent nearly $9 million dollarsattempting to crash to falsely charge that a set of hacked e-mails somehow unravels the scientific consensus that global warming is occurring. Koch finances the ” so far on direct lobbying, much of it on climate change legislation. With a team of Koch-funded operatives going as far as the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen this week, the brothers may succeed in scuttling any prospect for addressing climate change.

STOPPING HEALTH REFORM: Much of the fierce opposition to health reform can be credited to Koch organizations. As the health care debate began, AFP created a front group, known as “Patients United,” dedicated itself to attacking Democratic health care reform proposals. Patients United has blanketed the country with ads distorting various provisions of the health reform legislation, particularly the public option. Patients United even centered a media campaign around Shona Robertson-Holmes, claiming she had a brain tumor the Canadian system refused to treat. However, the Ottawa Citizen reported that Patients United has been exaggerating Holmes’ case, and that she in fact had a benign cyst. In their quest to block health care reform, Koch-funded groups have fostered extremism. A speaker with the roving Patients United bus tour repeatedly compared health reform to the Holocaust while an eight-by-five foot banner at an AFP health care rally with Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) read, “National Socialist Health Care: Dachau, Germany” superimposed over corpses from a concentration camp. Although many were surprised at the level of anger AFP channeled into Democratic healthcare town halls in August, it wasn’t the first time Koch groups have helped to hijack the health reform debate. Back in 1994, Americans for Prosperity, then known as Citizens for a Sound Economy, worked closely with then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich to bring mobs of angry men to health reform rallies with then-First Lady Hillary Clinton.

A LONG HISTORY OF STOPPING PROGRESS: The Koch brothers clearly have a financial stake in blocking reform. Koch Industry oil refineries are major carbon dioxide polluters, and George-Pacific, a Koch Industries timber subsidiary, is one of the largest contributors to the loss of carbon-sink capacity. According to the EPA, Koch Industries is responsible for over 300 oil spills in the U.S. and has leaked three million gallons of crude oil into fisheries and drinking waters. So there are clear business-related reasons why Koch would want to block regulatory enforcement, clean energy, labor, and other reforms. But part of their opposition stems from a long family tradition of funding conservative movements to shift the country to the far right. Fred Koch, father of Charles and David and the company’s namesake, helped to found the John Birch Society in the late 1950s. The John Birch Society harnessed Cold War fears into hate against progressives, warning that President Kennedy, Civil Rights activists, and organized labor were in league with communists. By presenting progressive reform as a capitulation to the Soviet Union, Fred Koch and the other industrialists bankrolling the Birch Society were able to galvanize hundreds of thousands of middle class people into supporting their narrow agenda of cutting corporate taxes and avoiding consumer regulations.

Rich irony alert: Obama is not a liberal, you douche nozzles. Anything that makes America better, for the people, is viewed as a liberal agenda by these uber rich racists, environmental rapists and haters. Their agenda is to maintain the status quo for the Corporatocracy..it’s as simple and horrific as that.

This book is worth reading..

Tomorrow a new book will hit the stores. No, I am not talking about “Going Rogue: An American Life”, Palin’s new memoir, I am talking about “Going Rouge: Sarah Palin – An American Nightmare“. This book contains articles and essay’s written about Sarah the Impaler from well-known left of center folks like Max Blumenthal, Eve Ensler, Katrina vanden Heuvel, Jessica Valenti, Juan Cole, Jim Hightower, Robert Reich, Naomi Klein and my favorite.. Matt Taibbi. Truthout has a  writeup about this new endeavor and speaks to the editors Richard Kim and Betsy Reed about their book that exposes the former Alaska governor for what she really is…a publicity whore who hasn’t a clue about running a government and is so self-serving it’s downright pathetic and dangerous for America.

This book isn’t a personal attack of Palin the individual, its a testament to her record as a politician who seeks to hold America’s elected highest office despite her massive shortcomings and extreme right belief system. A section of the books introduction:

Palinism works by draping hard-right policy in a winning personal story and just-folks rhetoric, delicately masking the extremism of her true positions and broad- ening the audience for them. Its genius rests in its ability to magically absorb inconvenient facts and mutually contradictory realities into an unassailable personal narrative. In the Palin universe, her unwed pregnant teenage daughter Bristol is somehow a poster child for abstinence- only education; hence criticism of Palin’s sex-ed policies is an attack on her family. While Palin says tolerantly that members of her own family disagree about abortion, that there are “good people” on both sides, and that she would “personally” counsel a pregnant 15-year-old who’d been raped by her father to “choose life,” she actually believes that a child in that situation should not have the legal option to terminate her pregnancy. Although Palin is an aggressive advocate for opening up the United States’ oil reserves to drilling instead of investing in renewable energy, she labels herself “pro-environment,” a stance exemplified by her love of shooting animals or her husband’s hobby of racing snowmobiles across the tundra. And who’d dare question Palin’s foreign policy credentials, when her son Track shipped out to Iraq after high school?

A small taste of the Q&A with the editors in the TO article:

TO: Why do you think Sarah Palin remains so widely accepted by conservatives as a viable national politician, despite her obvious shortcomings?

RK: A part of that is definitely the narrative she sells; being a mom from Alaska. Also, she also does share the views of 20 percent of the electorate: the far right. And it’s clear that they are not actually thinking in this moment of winning national elections. They’re not even trying to hold onto a seat in New York’s 23rd district, which has been in Republican hands since the 1850s. That was the race where Sarah Palin intervened and hacked out the moderate Republican. So that’s a big question that’s unknown: Is the Republican Party going to follow Palin into basically suicidal territory in terms of a national election?

Below is Robert Greenwald’s short video explaining the basis of the book and why it’s important to get the facts out about this irresponsible woman who seeks to drag our nation into the abyss and make a few bucks for herself whilst doing it.

Never underestimate Sarah from Wasilla. She is dangerous and crazy like a fox..and the far right adores her, regardless of her shortcomings and failings as a leader on every level.

Todays WTF moment-courtesy of Roger Hedgecock.

The former mayor of  San Diego, who btw left office disgraced,(what rethug doesn't),  has come to a very strange conclusion of why Bill Sparkman was murdered:

It's the illegal immigrants and the Mexican Drug Cartels.

I shit you not. From ThinkProgress via the LAProgressive piece linked above:
The latest comes from right-wing radio host Rodger Hedgecock who seems convinced that the country’s “open border policy” must have had something to do with Sparkman’s gruesome death. Hedgecock dismisses the possibility that Sparkman was targeted and killed by someone motivated by the anti-government rhetoric being spewed by teabaggers and right-wing politicians who have explicitly bashed the US Census, and instead claims that “illegals” at “pot plantations” may be the cause of forest fires and Sparkman’s death:

Now it looks more like Sparkman was yet another victim of illegal drug operations on national forest land, and possibly also a victim of our still open border with Mexico.
*snip*
Our open border with Mexico has been changing American society in a number of unpleasant ways. These fires, these destroyed national forest lands, and maybe even Bill Sparkman’s death, may just be the latest way.
Ole Roger is really stretching it here, as the law enforcement folks believe the meth activity in the area might be to blame and those dudes consist of  local inbred white guys.

These guys just crack me up..in a sick twisted way.
