The Grifter from Alaska quits bus tour.

Guess the crowds weren't turning out for her as she expected and unloading all those lousy books weren't going as planned. RealClearPolitcs broke the story, however this version is from RawStory:
Amid diminishing media interest, Sarah Palin has quit her high-profile bus tour halfway through and returned to Alaska with her family, according to RealClearPolitics.

The move puts a damper on widespread speculations that Palin's "One Nation" bus tour, which launched on Memorial Day, was a potential precursor to a potential White House bid for 2012. Palin never made it to her scheduled stops in the key primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire.

RealClearPolitics, which originally broke the story about the bus tour, reported Wednesday on Palin's "extended hiatus." The remaining legs of her trip, according to Scott Conroy, are "in limbo" as "Palin and her family have reverted to the friendly confines of summertime Alaska."
I am so glad the press has abandoned her ass. They took up with the idiot from TX, Rick Perry and then Jon Huntsman announced yesterday.  As the article points out, the Palinator was jerking out the press: But after being ignored and mislead and denied interviews or access, reporters' attention fizzled.

Head on back to your compound you worthless bag of batshit. So you can do your Faux News..cough..commentary about things you don't know and will never know anything about.

This better be worth it: AK to finally release Palin's emails..

We have only been waiting two years for these suckers..so I hope to hell they are comedy gold. From Slate's John Voorhees:
Reporters staking out Sarah Palin’s “One Nation” bus may soon have some reading material to help them kill some time.

Alaska state officials are preparing to release more than 24,000 pages of Palin’s emails from her time as governor, the Anchorage Daily News reports.

But officials say they are withholding 2,415 pages that are privileged, personal or otherwise exempt from the state’s disclosure laws. As the Daily News notes, it also “remains to be seen how many of the released emails are going to be at least partially blacked out.”

A host of media organizations requested the records during the 2008 presidential campaign, when Palin was named as a the Republican VP nominee. But at the time state officials said they weren’t prepared to handle the requests for a number of reasons, including an antiquated electronic database system and the fact that Palin commonly used a personal Yahoo account to conduct official state business.

State officials say that they have now finally finished sifting through the email accounts of more than 50 state employees to round up those emails Palin sent or received from her Yahoo account. The records are now on their way to a commercial printer, and are expected to be shipped to media outlets in the coming days.
Among the news organizations that requested the emails: the Anchorage Daily News, Associated Press, MSNBC, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, and CNN.
Wait, they are withholding how many? Those are the good ones..you KNOW they are!  This may turn out to be nothing...damn it and I wanted some new material on this friggin moronic woman that has the ability to dupe millions of rubes.

UPDATE: Gee whiz, The Palinator's bus was vandalized with signs calling her a media whore..LOL..ya think?

Palin, Breitbart booed in WI

Warms the cockles of my little black heart it does! Andy couldn't handle the boo's so he told them all to go to hell...nice comeback asshole, is that the best you got? From The Progressive:

It was fun to be at the Madison capitol today to protest Sarah Palin and the tea partiers.
There were about 1,500 tea partiers, many bused in by Americans for Prosperity, the rightwing group funded by the Koch brothers.
The tea partiers were surrounded by about 3,000 or more pro-labor supporters, who let their presence be felt with raucous chants and boos and cries of “Shame, shame, shame!”
Palin had to talk over all the cat calls being leveled at her dumb ass. As per her usual, she recited most of the regular teabagger talking points. AndyB was his usual batshit self as well. Kudo's to RawStory for the video. It's worth the click to go over and watch it.

First Republican straw poll of the season and it's a doozy!

Lawd have mercy, what a selection of Republicans, most right, many way right, to choose from! Politico of course has the 411, see the bottom of the post for how the email alert words the same information:

Romney won with 35 percent, beating second-place finisher Ron Paul by 24 points in the WMUR-ABC News straw poll of members of the state Republican Party. In third place was former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who won 8 percent—just one point ahead of Sarah Palin, who drew 7 percent.
*jump to*
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann won 5 percent, pizza mogul Herman Cain took 4 percent, and Santorum won 3 percent—tied with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, Indiana Rep. Mike Pence and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
The Half-Term Governor from AK did better than I expected and Pence the fuckwit did worse.Santorum and Batshit Bachmann should of gotten nothing, but there is no accounting for some folks tastes is there? Now, the news alert I got in my email put it this way:
The full results from the WMUR/ABC/N.H. Republican Party presidential straw poll are: Mitt Romney with 35% of the 273 ballots cast, Ron Paul with 11%, Tim Pawlenty with 8% and Sarah Palin with 7%. The remaining results: Michele Bachmann and Jim DeMint with 5% each; Herman Cain with 4%; Chris Christie, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Mitch Daniels and Mike Huckabee with 3% each; Rudy Giuliani, Judd Gregg, Gary Johnson and "other" with 2% each; and Donald Trump and Haley Barbour with 1% each. Jon Huntsman Jr. and John Thune were on the ballot but received no votes.(emphasis mine)
I did laugh my brown ass off over Thune's returns or lack thereof. I howled over Haley Barbour's one percent. ;) All, in all, the actual Politico writeup seemed much kinder and gentler to the assholes in the bunch, wouldn't you say?

Bill Maher- Founding Fathers would of despised the Teabaggers. (video)

New Rules!! Opening his 2011 season on HBO, Maher went off on the Teabaggers and their lack of knowledge regarding what the founding fathers stood for, and in Palin's case, what most of them did for a living. It's shameful how little the extreme rightwingers know about our history. The history lesson begins about the 2:55 into the clip.

The Queen of Mean opens her piehole.

She released it in the dead of night (12am AK time) for starters. The transcript of Palin's eight minute, bullshit-laden response can be read here. I can not believe she had the balls to actually use the phrase blood libel. Palin is not Jewish, and evidently she has no knowledge of the phrase and it's meaning, otherwise she would of stayed as far away as possible from it. The uninformed, intellectually-challenged shrew couldn't of found a more explosive term to use in her speechifying:
But, especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.
Palin is once again playing the victim card. It's what she does best. She will attack first and then, when someone responds to her dehumanizing, usually violence-charged rhetoric, she will immediately play the victim.Such is the case with her use of the term blood libel. Tom Diemer at PoliticsDaily spells out the meaning of the phrase accurately and succinctly:
"Blood libel" is an extraordinarily loaded phrase because it recalls the false accusation by Christians against Jews that was used for centuries as an excuse for anti-Semitic persecution. The libel generally refers to the charge that Jews required human blood, and in particular the blood of Christian children, to bake matzoh bread.
Evidently Palin is a follower of the classless and outright lying bag of batshit Andrew Breitbart, as he used the phrase in a tweet yesterday. His use of the term was turned against the GOP itself. Since Breitbart has already been proven to be a thug who generates nothing but lies and then the right, without fact-checking, perpetuates them, we can ignore his bleating.  Palin prattles on, attempting to deflect the criticism of her violent-laden rhetoric:
There are those who claim political rhetoric is to blame for the despicable act of this deranged, apparently apolitical criminal. And they claim political debate has somehow gotten more heated just recently. But when was it less heated? Back in those “calm days” when political figures literally settled their differences with dueling pistols?
Palin has used degrading, illogical rhetoric since the 2008 presidential campaign, it's her stock in trade. Her 'palling around with terrorists' line, used to describe Obama's relationship with Bill Ayers, was unconscionable and an outright lie.You can count on one finger the number of times Obama and Ayers actually spent one on one time together.

Palin actually nails herself to the wall in the following:
As I said while campaigning for others last March in Arizona during a very heated primary race, “We know violence isn’t the answer. When we ‘take up our arms’, we’re talking about our vote.” Yes, our debates are full of passion, but we settle our political differences respectfully at the ballot box – as we did just two months ago, and as our Republic enables us to do again in the next election, and the next. That’s who we are as Americans and how we were meant to be. Public discourse and debate isn’t a sign of crisis, but of our enduring strength. It is part of why America is exceptional.
Palin can say now she meant voting but her rhetoric said otherwise to millions of extremists who began to carry weapons to political meetings. She has shown little, if any, respect to Democratic candidates. Her 'crosshairs' map was nothing more than a visual image of violence for her supporters. Palin of course, did not mention her crosshairs map in her speech. She actually seemed to defend her type of violent speech with the following:
No one should be deterred from speaking up and speaking out in peaceful dissent, and we certainly must not be deterred by those who embrace evil and call it good. And we will not be stopped from celebrating the greatness of our country and our foundational freedoms by those who mock its greatness by being intolerant of differing opinion and seeking to muzzle dissent with shrill cries of imagined insults.
Intolerance of hate speech is a good thing. Refusing to allow speech that uses words that invoke violent mental images should never be tolerated. Shrill cries of imagined insults? The crazy among us will take her at her word....literally.

If Palin and her ilk can not intelligently speak to the issues without invoking hate or violent mental images, we must stand up and call them out every chance we get.

If we take Palin's words at face value her logic, as always, is skewed and intelligently infantile.Violent rhetoric, according to Sarah Palin, does not inspire violence...but criticism of  the violence-laden rhetoric does.
If you don’t like a person’s vision for the country, you’re free to debate that vision. If you don’t like their ideas, you’re free to propose better ideas.
The Republicans have already created a bill entitled To repeal the job-killing health care law and health care-related provisions in the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010.They do not propose any 'better idea's' in that bill Sarah, not a one. Where are the proposals to replace what the R's want to remove? The also have stated there will be little time for 'debate' on this bill and they will not allow any amendments. As attorney Jeff Golberg notes: No alternative Republican plan to reform the health care system is included or referenced.  Why?  Because Republicans don’t have a plan.

Like her brethren, Palin offers nothing in her speech to replace her negative rhetoric of violence and obfuscation. We should be pissed, but certainly not surprised.

How the right will spin the AZ shootings: they are the victims.

The reality is this: a mentally unstable person legally purchased a large caliber handgun and a clip that held two dozen bullets. His politics really do not matter at this point. His ability to purchase a gun does matter.

This morning Robert Parry has a good read up about how the right is already spinning this tragedy and trying like hell to distance themselves from it. From his ConsortiumNews article:
We saw this in 1995 when right-wing anti-government extremist Timothy McVeigh bombed the Oklahoma City federal building. Though some on the Left linked that terrorist act, which killed 168 people, to the hateful rants of right-wing radio hosts such as Rush Limbaugh, the mainstream Washington press corps quickly rallied to Limbaugh’s defense.
Similarly, within hours of the Tucson shooting, which left Arizona Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in critical condition with a bullet hole through her brain, former Washington Post media critic Howard Kurtz was out with a commentary establishing a defensive perimeter around former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who had put Giffords’s district in a rifle’s crosshairs.
Like others on the Right, Palin also has favored violent rhetoric in discussing the need to strike back at Democrats who supported health-care reform during the last session of Congress, as Giffords had done. “Don’t retreat, RELOAD!” Palin urged her followers.
While deeming Palin’s language and imagery “highly unfortunate” and “dumb,” Kurtz absolved Palin and other right-wingers of any responsibility for the Tucson slayings and termed any linkage a “sickening ritual of guilt by association.”
I do not hold Palin personally responsible for the tragedy in AZ but I do blame her and other rightwing nutters for instilling double-edged rhetoric into the national discussion. A play on words is how the right is spinning the idiot from Alaska's dialog, but to me it's a serious lack of intelligence and the inability to hold a discussion based on facts. With mentally ill people having the ability to purchase large caliber, semi-automatic handguns that are easily concealed I think yahoo's like Palin need to tone down the violent rhetoric and try, for once in their lives, to talk in an intelligent manner about issues that we face as a nation.

Personally, I believe that Palin, Rush, Beck and all the rest of the rightwing nutters can not intelligently speak to important issues. They rely solely on buzz words and bullshit to make their points. They do not have the ability to rationally discuss issues like healthcare reform, the deficit, government control and all the other issues that are part of the national discussion. So they depend on short, ridiculous, double-edged assessments that add nothing to the national debate. They use hysterical, hate-filled verbiage to incite and connect with the uneducated masses that follow them and their every word. Parry also lays out the other way the right controls the conversation: playing the victim:
Yet, while right-wing commentators have often accused African-Americans and other minorities of exploiting their “victimhood,” the Right has learned over many decades the political power that comes from framing issues as “hey, we’re the victims here.” And, often the Right’s exaggerated “victimhood” has been accompanied by violence toward the supposed “victimizers.”
For instance, in the South of the 1950s and 1960s, white segregationists portrayed themselves as the victims of “outside agitators” and a “liberal Northern press” intent on destroying the South’s “traditional way of life,” i.e. white supremacy. Thus, many white racists saw the murder of civil rights workers as a legitimate act of self-defense, the protection of “states’ rights.”
This chip-on-the-shoulder “victimhood” has remained an element of American right-wing politics ever since. Whenever truly discriminated-against groups, such as blacks and women, have demanded their rights, the Right has cast the reforms as attacks on American traditions.
 *snip*
In many other cases, the Right has found “victimhood” a powerful political motivator. For instance, the Right rallied white male college students around their “persecution” from “political correctness,” which often involved a college administration punishing boorish conduct like shouting racial slurs at blacks and yelling sexual insults at women and gays.
The right has honed this skill for decades and it works..plain and simple..it works for them. But how do we, as intelligent individuals, combat this fuckery? Intelligent people know when they are being conned, but we can not rely on the majority of American's seeing through the rights manipulation of the conversation. People want to be seen as a victim, it gives them the right to lash out at the other side, to make the other side the bully when the reality is..they are not the bullies, they are the people that can intelligently discuss an issue using facts and common sense.

We must call the right out every time they use the victimhood premise. We need to bring attention to this type of rhetoric and call it what it is..bs that holds no truth but is laden with violent buzzwords and mental images that incite those who can not speak intelligently to an issue. We need to keep the right from dumbing down the national debate. Our nation's viability depends on it.

Rightwing extremist strikes killing Dem congresswomans aide & 3 others.

At this point Rep Giffords is still alive although she was shot in the head. From AZ CBS:
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and several others were shot in Pima County near Tucson today.
At least four people are confirmed dead at the scene, including an aide to Rep. Giffords.
Initial reports by CBS Affiliate KOLD that the Congresswoman was among the fatalities were corrected by her press people, who told KOLD that she is alive but in surgery.

"She is currently in surgery. She is still alive," said Darcy Slaten, Public Affairs, University Medical Center in Tucson.

Eight others are being treated at the hospital as well.

The assailant reportedly sprayed bullets into an area where the Democratic lawmaker was hosting a "Congress on Your Corner" event at a Safeway supermarket.
A law enforcement source told CBS News that a man apparently stood up in the crowd during the town hall meeting, shouted something and then opened fire. Someone - possibly police or security - then shot at the gunman.

The gunman has been apprehended but it is unknown if he were wounded.
CBS News has learned that seven people are in the emergency room.

Giffords, 40, who just started her third term in Congress, was reelected in November after defeating Republican and Tea Party favorite Jesse Kelly by a margin 49 percent to 47 percent.
According to several sources the killer was a big Teabagger supporter. According to this DKos blogpost, courtesy of MadMikesAmerica, Kelly held a rally where he allowed his supporters to fire a fully automatic M16.

Sarah Palin has a warped connection too:
Palin's Facebook page now carries a map featuring 20 gun sights, one for each of the Democrats targeted this year by her political action committee SarahPAC. Three of the gun sights, those where incumbent Democrats have already announced their retirement, are colored red.
Her husband is an astronaut, who was scheduled to go up in the near future.

Update: 3:42 PM ET Sheriff's Dept: 18 Shot, 6 Dead, Giffords 'Gravely' Wounded

Richard J. Kastigar, the bureau chief for the Pima County Sheriff's Department, tells CNN that 18 individuals were shot and six are dead. He adds that Giffords is "gravely" wounded. She is responding to commands after coming out of surgery.

Matt Taibbi: Tea & Crackers.

He calls them Tea Party 2.0 and he's right of course. His newest at RS is a great read. A short excerpt:
It's taken three trips to Kentucky, but I'm finally getting my Tea Party epiphany exactly where you'd expect: at a Sarah Palin rally. The red-hot mama of American exceptionalism has flown in to speak at something called the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, a gospel-music hoedown in a giant convention center filled with thousands of elderly white Southerners. Palin — who earlier this morning held a closed-door fundraiser for Rand Paul, the Tea Party champion running for the U.S. Senate — is railing against a GOP establishment that has just seen Tea Partiers oust entrenched Republican hacks in Delaware and New York. The dingbat revolution, it seems, is nigh.

"We're shaking up the good ol' boys," Palin chortles, to the best applause her aging crowd can muster. She then issues an oft-repeated warning (her speeches are usually a tired succession of half-coherent one-liners dumped on ravenous audiences like chum to sharks) to Republican insiders who underestimated the power of the Tea Party Death Star. "Buck up," she says, "or stay in the truck."
Gawd, I swear you could not pay me enough to attend a Sarah/Rand Paul get-together. My fucking head would explode.

He goes on to describe the crowd: White and crippled. No shit, they got a shit-load of hover-rounds and scooters there. wtf? They are all paid for by medicare...aka the federal government! And these fuckers bitch about big government and freeloaders? Fuck me running...

The best line in the piece:  But after lengthy study of the phenomenon, I've concluded that the whole miserable narrative boils down to one stark fact: They're full of shit. All of them. At the voter level, the Tea Party is a movement that purports to be furious about government spending — only the reality is that the vast majority of its members are former Bush supporters....

Read it, Taibbi never lets me down. Bless his little black journalistic heart. ;)

More people believe in UFO's than Palin for Prez..

Laughing my brown ass off..from a poll paid for by CBS' 60 Minutes and Vanity Fair, more folks believe in ghosts and ufo's than Sarah Palin being a good President:

Do you think SARAH PALIN would have the ability to be an EFFECTIVE PRESIDENT?
ALL     REP.     DEM.     IND.     LIB.     MOD.     CONS.
No     59%     40%     75%        63%     80%     70%        40%
Yes     26       47        12           21        15        19           41

Which one of the following do you think is the most likely to ACTUALLY EXIST?
ALL      MEN      WOMEN      UNDER 45   OVER 45
U.F.O.’s         30          37             22                 23               36

Thank you America....I really needed a friggin great, big, belly laugh today. ;)

Is Palin 's endorsement the kiss of death?

A NYT writer has his opinion up today regarding the Palin endorsements and how they have fared lately. From Timothy Egan:
Vaughn Ward, the Republican congressional candidate from Idaho, has the dubious character trifecta of the Palin brand: bone-headed, defiant and willfully ignorant. When told that Puerto Rico was not a country, he said, “I don’t care what you call it.”

On Tuesday, this Palin protégé was routed in a huge upset, despite a big early lead in the polls, a 6-to-1 fundraising edge and that Friday fly-in by the former half-term governor, who has Idaho roots.

A week ago, Palin backed a candidate for Senate in Washington state, Clint Didier, a former professional football player who also owns a farm and has railed against excessive government spending.

But at the same time Palin was calling Didier “a commonsense constitutional conservative [who] will help put our country on the right track,” it was revealed that he took at least $140,000 in federal farm subsidies. If having his hand out seems inconsistent with his bumper-sticker politics, it follows a familiar pattern of the Palin brand. In Idaho, Ward, the Palin candidate, also blasted government intervention in the private sector, even though his wife, the family breadwinner, earns her living through a mess kept alive by Federal bailouts — Fannie Mae.

*snip*

As for the Palin brand, it seems to represent no consistent philosophy, no guiding principles, no remedial vetting. It stands for one thing — Palin — and in that sense, she does have a legacy, though it can only be measured in dollars.
That dear friends, is a mighty nice bitchslap of the Loser from Wasilla. It just made my day. It would be great if people finally started realizing that Palin is nothing more than a gold-digging dipshit who looks out for herself and no one else. Her lack of command of the English language, demonstrated by her ridiculously skewed logic speaks for itself.

Palin goes after Maddow now.

Sista Sarah is now going after Rachel for doing her job, calling her prejudiced against Rand Paul. Watch the video below....if you can stomach it.

Paylin has 12 million reasons she hosed Alaskans

As in 12 million bucks..that is what she has earned since she quit her job as Governor of Alaska, or to be more specific...since July of last year. The spelling in the title is not accidental.

Holy fuckamoly...that is a lot of friggin moolah to pay a female that doesn't know a fucking thing, and spews more bullshittery than anyone else this side of Rush Limpballs.

Her salary as Governor of Alaska was a measly $125K.

From the ABC News article that broke this story:
That conservative estimate is based on publicly available records and news accounts. The actual number is probably much higher, but is hard to quantify because Palin does not publicize her earnings. She reputedly got a $7 million deal for her first book, with the bulk of that money due after her resignation as governor, and will earn about $250,000 per episode, according to the web site The Daily Beast, for each of eight episodes of a reality show about Alaska for the The Learning Channel. She has managed to keep a lid on reliable figures for her earnings from a multi-year contract with Fox News and a second book deal with HarperCollins.
Is she worth it? Hardly..But then I am not a mouth breathing, knuckle-dragging rightwing nutter.

Mitt wins, beats sister Sarah

Romney didn't even have to show up to the Southern Republican leadership conference to take 24% of the vote to Palin's 18%.

Romney should also note that he only won by a single vote..Ron Paul came in second. From The Guardian:
Another potential candidate for 2012, the former House speaker, Newt Gringrich, secured a respectable 18% (321). Mike Huckabee, the pastor and broadcaster who won the Iowa caucus in the 2008 primaries, won only 4%, while Tim Pawlenty, the governor of Minnesota, took only 3%.
So the Rightwing Nutter Party is anything but united, which of course made me smile. The Rethugs biggest hold is below the Mason-Dixon line, so that is why I think this assinine poll deserves to be mentioned.

It's been a lousy couple of weeks here and smiling has been at a minimum. I did cackle when I saw Pawlenty's numbers. That fuckwit really needs to step the fuck up if he plans on running for Prez in 2012.

Below is a video of the neocons defending Palin. C&L has a nice writeup as well.

You have got to be kidding me...

The Party Of Hell No is driving their collective train off a cliff these days...and it looks fucking fabulous from here.  No way they get enough elected fuckwits to repeal shit this November. So...why are they screeching and/or wasting time on it?

Cuz they got nothin'...nothing at all.

And as an added bonus..McSame is so damn desperate he calls in The Quitter..Sister Sarah. She only appeals to the uneducated base...which is a minuscule group within the big political picture.

You go Sister Sarah..keep on dumbing it down for the dumbasses, because anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows you ain't got what it takes to run a government..at any level above the Mayor of Wasilla.

Oh...Thank You Lawrence O'Donnell..for a job well done during KO's absence. You need your own show dude..seriously.

No Doubt about it - She is an idiot.

Seriously..I really thought Palin would be smart enough to stay away from the birther bullshit.

Apparently I gave her way too much credit. Friggin nutter and major publicity whore.

Jon Stewart on Palin- Spot-friggin-on!

This is fantastic. Stewart really hits all his marks on his 'special comment' about Sarah the Impaler.

His best line:
"when you peel back the pretty, shooty layers of the Palin onion, there's no onion. It's just a conservative boiler plate mad lib: 'Freedom is good and taxes are--ooh I need an adjective--how about, I don't know, silly?'
I love this man.

This book is worth reading..

Tomorrow a new book will hit the stores. No, I am not talking about “Going Rogue: An American Life”, Palin’s new memoir, I am talking about “Going Rouge: Sarah Palin – An American Nightmare“. This book contains articles and essay’s written about Sarah the Impaler from well-known left of center folks like Max Blumenthal, Eve Ensler, Katrina vanden Heuvel, Jessica Valenti, Juan Cole, Jim Hightower, Robert Reich, Naomi Klein and my favorite.. Matt Taibbi. Truthout has a  writeup about this new endeavor and speaks to the editors Richard Kim and Betsy Reed about their book that exposes the former Alaska governor for what she really is…a publicity whore who hasn’t a clue about running a government and is so self-serving it’s downright pathetic and dangerous for America.

This book isn’t a personal attack of Palin the individual, its a testament to her record as a politician who seeks to hold America’s elected highest office despite her massive shortcomings and extreme right belief system. A section of the books introduction:

Palinism works by draping hard-right policy in a winning personal story and just-folks rhetoric, delicately masking the extremism of her true positions and broad- ening the audience for them. Its genius rests in its ability to magically absorb inconvenient facts and mutually contradictory realities into an unassailable personal narrative. In the Palin universe, her unwed pregnant teenage daughter Bristol is somehow a poster child for abstinence- only education; hence criticism of Palin’s sex-ed policies is an attack on her family. While Palin says tolerantly that members of her own family disagree about abortion, that there are “good people” on both sides, and that she would “personally” counsel a pregnant 15-year-old who’d been raped by her father to “choose life,” she actually believes that a child in that situation should not have the legal option to terminate her pregnancy. Although Palin is an aggressive advocate for opening up the United States’ oil reserves to drilling instead of investing in renewable energy, she labels herself “pro-environment,” a stance exemplified by her love of shooting animals or her husband’s hobby of racing snowmobiles across the tundra. And who’d dare question Palin’s foreign policy credentials, when her son Track shipped out to Iraq after high school?

A small taste of the Q&A with the editors in the TO article:

TO: Why do you think Sarah Palin remains so widely accepted by conservatives as a viable national politician, despite her obvious shortcomings?

RK: A part of that is definitely the narrative she sells; being a mom from Alaska. Also, she also does share the views of 20 percent of the electorate: the far right. And it’s clear that they are not actually thinking in this moment of winning national elections. They’re not even trying to hold onto a seat in New York’s 23rd district, which has been in Republican hands since the 1850s. That was the race where Sarah Palin intervened and hacked out the moderate Republican. So that’s a big question that’s unknown: Is the Republican Party going to follow Palin into basically suicidal territory in terms of a national election?

Below is Robert Greenwald’s short video explaining the basis of the book and why it’s important to get the facts out about this irresponsible woman who seeks to drag our nation into the abyss and make a few bucks for herself whilst doing it.

Never underestimate Sarah from Wasilla. She is dangerous and crazy like a fox..and the far right adores her, regardless of her shortcomings and failings as a leader on every level.

Monday...and it still smells like sulfur around these parts.

The neighborhood was full of fireworks this weekend..including last night. This didn't sit well with the felines of course.

Sweety, aka Faceplant, still won't come out from under the bed after a really huge kablooey last night about 1am.

Today's news will be full of Obama and the Russians today. Really, did he have to take that trip now? Isn't there more pressing biz at home dude?

Sometimes I think he does this shit as a diversion.

People will be second-guessing Mooselini's latest move..to abandon her job as the Gov of Alaska. There is no way to make this look good for her. No friggin way. The bitch is whacked out..and perhaps she is only listening to Todd, because no self-respecting politco is going to tell her to dump her day job..none.

My tv took a shit last week. It was only 10 months old. Vizio is a raggedy ass bunch of fuckwits and I highly recommend that you DO NOT buy any of their products without an extended warranty.

I will go silently crazy this week without tv. Sick ain't it? I admit I am addicted to the boob tube. Lots of music to be played I guess...

Oh yeah..Mac the Knife kicked the bucket this morning. Oh, how I hated that sumbitch. I hope he is in the seventh level of hell..frying. I know..its wrong to speak ill of the dead..but still Robert McNamara was a Dick Cheneysque type of dirtbag. Even if he did come around to seeing things he did as horrific..Karma is karma dude.

Palin to resign as governor.

Well, this is a shocker! Like everything else she says..her decision makes no sense to me. From AP:
"Once I decided not to run for re-election, I also felt that to embrace the conventional Lame Duck status in this particular climate would just be another dose of politics as usual, something I campaigned against and will always oppose," Palin said in a statement released by her office.

"It is my duty to always protect our great state. With that in mind, my family and I determined that it is best to make a difference this summer, and I am willing to change things, so that this administration, with its positive agenda, its accomplishments, and its successful road to an incredible future, can continue without interruption and with great administrative and legislative success," she said.

Her popularity has been going downhill in Alaska for a while now. I hope she runs for President..Lets see how many yahoo's will vote for a woman that can't find her ass w/both hands.
