The group, Americans Against Food Taxes is anything but.

Like the Koch Brothers, The Corporations behind the new commercial being run, Americans against food taxes want you to believe the group is a groundswell of Americans that are tired of being taxed to death by Big Government. The commercial and their website are loaded with images of average Americans when the reality is: this is a bullshit misleading front group for The Corporatocracy once again. From Sourcewatch:

Americans Against Food Taxes (AAFT) is a front group funded by the beverage industry which consists of major restaurant chains, food and soft drink manufacturers and their associated lobbying groups. It was organized by the American Beverage Association to fight a proposed three to ten cent tax on soda, sugary drinks and energy drinks to help fund health care reform in the United States. [1][2]
Its Web site states that Americans Against Food Taxes is a "coalition of concerned citizens – responsible individuals, financially strapped families, small and large businesses in communities across the country" who opposed a government-proposed tax on food and beverages, including soda, juice drinks, and flavored milks. But its extensive membership consists mainly of lobbying groups for packaged food and soda companies, chain restaurant corporations and the world's large food and soft drink manufacturers and distributors, including the Coca-Cola Company, Dr. Pepper-Royal Crown Bottling Co., PepsiCo, Canada Dry Bottling Co. of New York, the Can Manufacturers Institute, 7-Eleven Convenience Stores, and Yum! Brands.

There could very well be a group of American's that do not want to pay small taxes on sodas and so-called energy drinks to fund anything, but this group ain't one of them, although they state they have 83,000 individual members, there are no names of them on the website..only corporations. When I sign a petition I allow my name to be used publicly.  Here in California a poll has shown that a majority of Californian's would rather pay a two percent tax on soda's and energy drinks than see more cuts in  education funding.

Why can't they be up front with us is the question that American's need to ask them. Why are they lying and misleading us with their commercials and their website? Once again, it's Bullshit for the Masses my friends..eat it up! They count on it.

What Balls They Have! GOP claims credit for last years economic growth.

These jerkwads just took possession of the House this month and yet to listen to them tell it, the Party of No can claim THEY are the ones that 'did it all' when it comes to last years small but significant economic/job growth. The GOP, who refused to support anything that was put forth in the 111th Congress, except for the Tax Cuts from Hell in the lame duck session in December, have the nads to grab credit for Obama's hard earned work. From MediaMatters' site, PoliticalCorrection.Org(emphasis and links all theirs):

Appearing on Fox News' Happening Now, House Rules Committee Chairman David Dreier (R-CA) credited "positive numbers" on the economy to House Republicans' newly held majority status and their pursuit of "pro-growth policies."
REP. DREIER: The notion that many pundits and people on some of those other cable channels throw out regularly that we want to bring an end to health care for people is just preposterous. We are determined to ensure that with a market-oriented approach we can have the kind of chance for people to have access to insurance and we can get our economy growing. And we've gotten some positive numbers. I think it's in large part because we won our majority and we're pursuing pro-growth policies. I think we can make it happen.
Dreier didn't specify which "positive numbers" he's been looking at, but perhaps it was the January 7th release of BLS's December 2010 unemployment rate, which at 9.4% was the lowest it's been since May 2009. Or maybe he's referring to the addition of over 100,000 private sector jobs in December alone.
It's hard to understand how Dreier can justify giving the not-yet-implemented policies of the House Republican majority credit for economic growth that occurred when both houses of Congress were dominated by Democrats, but apparently this is a strategy Republicans have decided to embrace. ThinkProgress caught Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) pulling a similar maneuver. Calling the Obama administration "highly anti-business," Kyl credited the December extension of the Bush tax cuts for private-sector business growth that had occurred in the 11 months prior to the passage of the extension.
One 'positive number' you probably won't find Kyl or Dreier slinging around is the addition of over 1.1 million private sector jobs since health care reform became law.
It's fucking amazing ain't it??? These bastards have no friggin shame...they will lie, cheat and evidently..steal. They are Grifters all, and at this point..hell is too good a place for them.

GOP Pledge To America: It's a joke right?

Also notable is the fact that this 21-page, full of horseshit and not much else, document was put together by a House staffer who, up till April 2010, served as a lobbyist for some of the nation's most powerful oil, pharmaceutical, and insurance companies, per this CommonDreams.org writeup. From the CommonDreams article:
In a draft version of The Pledge that was being passed around to reporters before the official release, the document properties list "Wild, Brian" as the "Author." A GOP source said that Wild -- who is on House Minority Leader John Boehner's payroll -- did help author the governing platform that the party is unveiling on Thursday. Another aide said that as the executive director of the Republican leadership group American Speaking Out, Wild's tasks were more on the administrative side of the operations.

Until early this year, Wild was a fairly active lobbyist on behalf of the firm the Nickles Group, the lobbying shop set up by the former Republican Senator from Oklahoma, Don Nickles. During his five years at the firm, Wild, among others, was paid $740,000 in lobbying contracts from AIG, the former insurance company at the heart of the financial collapse; $800,000 from energy giant Andarko Petroleum; more than $1.1 million from Comcast, more than $1.3 million from Exxon Mobil; and $625,000 from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc.

Gee, ain't that a friggin interesting factoid m'dear reader? And isn't it ironic that he works for John Boehner, the fake-tan man who probably farts orange and is one of the Deans of Wingnut University aka Nutter U.

Another good read is here from CAP (Center for American Progress) on the Rethugs 'pledge'. An excerpt for your entertainment, or if you possibly need a reason to toss back a few drinks:
“Pledge to America” Not as Fiscally Responsible as It Claims-Core Policies Would Increase the Federal Deficit and Debt
Republicans in Congress released “Pledge to America” today, a plan they characterize as laying out a “new governing agenda.” Integral to that plan is a new commitment to “fiscal responsibility.” Our analysis, however, shows that implementing the plan’s proposals would increase the federal budget deficit and accelerate growth in federal debt.

The “Pledge to America” budget would mean $11.1 trillion in deficits over the next 10 years. By 2020, the federal budget deficit would be 6.3 percent of gross domestic product, the federal debt would exceed 93 percent of GDP, and interest payments on the debt would be more than $1 trillion a year. The budget deficit would be about $200 billion larger in 2020 under the “Pledge to America” plan than it would be under President Barack Obama’s budget, and over the next 10 years deficits would be $1.5 trillion higher than under the president’s budget.

The substantial increase in deficits under the “Pledge to America” budget are due to the significant tax cuts that come from extending all expiring tax provisions and the implementation of several new tax cuts. Altogether, tax revenues under the “Pledge to America” plan would average 16.7 percent of GDP. During the last period the federal government ran balanced budgets revenues averaged 20 percent of GDP.

The CAP article lays out all the bogus bullshit the Rethugs are trying hard to pass off on the American voters. The GOP must really believe we are all as dumb as Sarah Palin.

And of course it contains a repeal of the health care reform act, known as the Affordable Care Act, Obama's congress passed this year...without an ounce of Rethug support I might add.

So, check out the Cap piece for ammo when your rightwing nutter friends or relatives try to tell you just how fucking great this piece of shit really is.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree. The Liz Cheney edition

Lizard Cheney really is her daddy's girl. She can spew bullshit and bravado like her daddy and then some. All with a straight face.

She has created "Keep America Safe", a one-stop extravaganza for all things neocon. From Foreign Policy:
Neoconservative foreign-policy heavyweights Liz Cheney and William Kristol are at the heart of the new initiative, called the Keep America Safe campaign. Their first Web video attacks Obama's decisions on altering the plan for missile-defense sites in Eastern Europe, the Justice Department's decision to look into interrogation abuses by the CIA, and the pending decision of whether or not to escalate in Afghanistan.
No really, Liz is a heavyweight in the foreign policy area? Who knew? And Billy Kristol, who can't find his ass with both hands, is also a co-founder? Holy fuckamoly..

Ben Smith at Politico has all the 411 on this bunch of nutters that just won't go away:
Keep America Safe will focus on issues like troop levels, missile defense, detainees, and interrogation, according to Liz Cheney, who is heading the group along with Weekly Standard editor William Kristol and Debra Burlingame, the hawkish sister of an American Airlines pilot killed in the September 11 attacks.

The group, incorporated as a 501 (c ) 4 non-profit, launches its fundraising drive online Tuesday with a web video accusing Obama of failing to back up his “tough talk” and with a website aimed to provide an organizing tool for hawks.

*snip*

The group’s mechanics are largely a product of former campaign aides to Senator John McCain: Michael Goldfarb, now a Weekly Standard blogger, is an adviser to the group; its executive director is McCain war room chief Aaron Harison, and the video was produced by Justin Germany, the McCain aide who produced a campaign video titled, “The One,” which mocked Obama as a messianic figure.
They are fund-raising..oh goodie! This means they will lie and obfuscate their collective asses off. All for the almighty dollar...well, it used to be almighty. Get ready folks, the spin machine is warming up!

Watch for Boss Limbaugh to talk this new group up..it's a no-brainer.

I voted for change, not political correctness

Obama just finished his speechifying for the carpetbaggers on Wall St. I found myself watching the speech and muttering to myself how full of bat guano he was.

He reminds me of all the other enablers in the House and Senate. They refuse to go for the jugular when it comes to important issues, they want all the Senators and House Rep's to join in a kumbaya moment.

That ain't gonna happen. The Blue Dogs have their own agenda and the Rethugs definitely have theirs. Neither of those two groups want to be seen agreeing with or supporting the Obama administration's agenda.

How will anything get done without the support of the Blue Dogs? Short answer: Nothing will.

Yet The Big O and his administration are still pandering to both groups.

Where is Lyndon Johnson when you need him? Johnson was able to push through massive social programs and civil rights bills that virtually no one south of the Mason-Dixon line ever wanted to see enacted.

Now, before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I realize LBJ wasn't an angel. He approved the wiretapping of MLK, and his Vietnam War build-up among other things, keep me from suggesting sainthood for him. His years in congress helped him craft all the alliances he needed to push through his Great Society.

Evidently Obama doesn't have any such alliances.

So what does Obama have that will enable him to make all the changes he promised during the campaign?

That isn't a rhetorical question..I really don't know what Obama has or doesn't have regarding political capital.

I just see him as another lame-ass politician that talks a good game but when it comes to actually doing anything major...he is lost in the wilderness of DC. He might be as pissed off as I am regarding the lack of balls our Congress critters seem to have. But he doesn't seem to be doing anything about these ball-less fuckers.

And that frustrates the shit out of me.

Its Smoot Hawley you disgusting ignorant woman.

Sweet-friggin-Jaysus-in-a-speedo..Michelle Bachmann is the dumbest representative in our Congress. I am sure this isn't news, but the fact that the Rethugs continue to let her open her piehole on the floor of the House. A dandelion has a higher IQ than this bitch.

She can't get the name right for starters. Then a quick check of Wiki would of provided her with the correct time frame when this act became law. I hate this disgusting female on the same level as rapists and murderer's. It's the Smoot-Hawley Act ya dumb bitch. Not Hoot-Smalley.

How do the people in her district that vote this slimey, stupid cunt into office time and time again live with themselves? It's a rhetorical question as none of us can be really sure. ;p

For those that care..the sports post for this weekend is here. ;>p

Rightwing hate speech pumps up the wacko's.

This week Bill Maher has a good show. Bernie Sanders representative for Vermont and KO are on for starters. C&L has the transcript of this exchange here. As Olbermann notes, this kind of bullshit and bravado hate talk incited good ole Timmy McVeigh.

And before Steve, our resident rightwing nutjob, starts bitching that the left does it too...we folks don't go out and kill people, we just warn and whine a LOT.

These folks have a huge bully pulpit at their disposal...the airwaves. I can easily name 8-10 of these sick fucks that condone or attempt to inflame the violent extreme rightwing nutjobs. You, the reader, can probably do it too. This shitfest below is just one example of outright fuckery with not even an ounce of truth in it. Beck and the NRA..sweet-fucking-jesus-in-a-speedo...make it stop before someone else dies at the hand of a lunatic that can read on a 6th grade level, but owns a fucking gun or two.BTW, I personally own a gun, I am not against gun ownership per se.

Where is the responsibility for what comes out of your piehole when you use America's airwaves to reach millions? It's bullshit for the masses.

Thanks to C&L for both videos. They so rock, don't cha know?

Oil prices up, dollar value down today...

Oil jumped up to $120/barrel and the Euro surged ahead of the almighty dollah. All because the Congress Critters(tm) refuse to just rubber stamp Paulson and Bernake's flawed plan to save the collective ass of all the Wall Streeters.

Stocks took a big shit too...down over 300 points and still sliding according to the NYT link above.

Jeez..not this shit again..holding us hostage until the taxpayer gives in. Bastards!

Text of Palin's speech and my response..

You can read it here. I will highlight the horseshit.

And I accept the privilege of serving with a man who has come through much harder missions … and met far graver challenges … and knows how tough fights are won - the next president of the United States, John S. McCain. - POW POW POW POW POW…She mentions it alot..A LOT. It has nothing to do with being capable of running our nation.

Our family has the same ups and downs as any other … the same challenges and the same joys. Sometimes even the greatest joys bring challenge. And children with special needs inspire a special love. - Special needs babies and children also need extra care and attention and you aren’t going to be able to provide that being on the campaign trail. But by all means..use your son to sell yourself Sarah.

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a “community organizer,” except that you have actual responsibilities. I might add that in small towns, we don’t quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren’t listening. - People of her small town were in the throes of starting a recall election…so you didn’t know all of them, and you certainly didn’t serve them all well.

The right reason is to challenge the status quo, to serve the common good, and to leave this nation better than we found it. - Since your views on Global Warming are opposite of your main man, John McCain, I highly doubt you can leave this nation in better shape than you found it. By accepting that pork money for the Bridge..you didn’t challenge shit lady.

But we are expected to govern with integrity, good will, clear convictions, and … a servant’s heart. - Unless you don’t like someone..then you attempt to get them fired…and if the head of the Law Enforcement division balks at that idea..you shitcan him as well..hows that for integrity?

I came to office promising major ethics reform, to end the culture of self-dealing. And today, that ethics reform is the law. - TrooperGate again comes to mind..tsk tsk.

Senator McCain also promises to use the power of veto in defense of the public interest - and as a chief executive, I can assure you it works. - Unless of course its one of the lobbyists that currently are employed on his campaign or one of their company cohorts…then lets see how Johnny does regarding the cough…public interest.

I told the Congress “thanks, but no thanks,” for that Bridge to Nowhere. If our state wanted a bridge, we’d build it ourselves. - Oh give it a fucking rest lady…YOU KEPT THE MONEY!!! IT WAS PORK FOR CHRISTS SAKE NO MATTER WHAT YOU SPENT IT ON!

And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly forty billion dollar natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence. - Too bad it’s being built by the Canadians eh? So much for American jobs eh?

To confront the threat that Iran might seek to cut off nearly a fifth of world energy supplies … or that terrorists might strike again at the Abqaiq facility in Saudi Arabia … or that Venezuela might shut off its oil deliveries … we Americans need to produce more of our own oil and gas. And take it from a gal who knows the North Slope of Alaska: we’ve got lots of both. - Oh yeah..it will take a minimum of ten years to get that oil and gas into the delivery system and it will only lower prices by cents, not to mention its so small that it will be used up in less than a decade.

But listening to him speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate. - John McCain has missed more votes in the Senate than any other senator in history that wasn’t ill..at least Obama was there the majority of the time.

The answer is to make government bigger … take more of your money … give you more orders from Washington … and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world. America needs more energy … our opponent is against producing it. - Bullshit, bullshit and more bullshit. Not even worth itemizing the bullshit in this one folks.

Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America … he’s worried that someone won’t read them their rights? Government is too big … he wants to grow it. - Yeah, thats right, you think civil rights are a joke, we know..and interestingly enough..people are innocent until evidence is presented against them at a trial. Those big bad Muslims are all guilty of something aren’t they?

The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes … raise payroll taxes … raise investment income taxes … raise the death tax … raise business taxes … and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars. My sister Heather and her husband have just built a service station that’s now opened for business - like millions of others who run small businesses. - The inheritance tax will be restored, not raised for Christs sake. He has no plans to hit small businesses, so unless your fucking sister is making millions off her gas station she has nothing to fear you freak. The rest is total bullshit, Obama isn’t raising shit on middle and lower class Americans.

How are you going to be better off if our opponent adds a massive tax burden to the American economy? Here’s how I look at the choice Americans face in this election. - Yeah, we know..by protecting the corporations tax loopholes. God forbid we actually get the 75% of corporations that paid little or no federal taxes to pay their fucking fair share.

And then there is the idealism of those leaders, like John McCain, who actually do great things. They’re the ones who are good for more than talk … the ones we have always been able to count on to serve and defend America. Senator McCain’s record of actual achievement and reform helps explain why so many special interests, lobbyists, and comfortable committee chairmen in Congress have fought the prospect of a McCain presidency - from the primary election of 2000 to this very day.- With over 100 lobbyists working on his campaign…who the fuck are you kidding woman?

There is only one man in this election who has ever really fought for you … in places where winning means survival and defeat means death … and that man is John McCain. In our day, politicians have readily shared much lesser tales of adversity than the nightmare world in which this man, and others equally brave, served and suffered for their country. It’s a long way from the fear and pain and squalor of a six-by-four cell in Hanoi to the Oval Office. - POW POW POW POW…nothing that prepares him to run our fucking country!

It’s the journey of an upright and honorable man - the kind of fellow whose name you will find on war memorials in small towns across this country, only he was among those who came home. To the most powerful office on earth, he would bring the compassion that comes from having once been powerless … the wisdom that comes even to the captives, by the grace of God … the special confidence of those who have seen evil, and seen how evil is overcome. A fellow prisoner of war, a man named Tom Moe of Lancaster, Ohio, recalls looking through a pin-hole in his cell door as Lieutenant Commander John McCain was led down the hallway, by the guards, day after day.- I will say it again..POW POW POW POW…nothing that prepares him to run our fucking country!

Christ almighty..what a load of hooey!

Crossposted all over the fucking place...namely Sirens Chronicles and Bring it On!

California's Kevin McCarthy- Republican propaganda about drilling in ANWAR

McCarthy is my Rethug wingnut representative in the House of Representatives..the following is from an email I got from that bag of batshit today:

Dear Friend,
As we pay almost five dollars a gallon for gas, now is the time to reject the status quo, and tackle our serious energy challenges. That is why my colleagues and I are fighting for Congress to vote on the “All of the Above” comprehensive energy plan to strengthen America. Not only are we calling for an expansion of our American oil production, but we are also promoting the use of clean, renewable energy sources like wind, solar, geothermal, and nuclear power. We must put windmills where the wind blows, solar panels where the sun shines, and oil production where the oil is. Instead of favoring one form of energy over another, we believe in incentivizing research and development and letting science decide.

Ten of my colleagues and I just returned from a trip where we viewed these real energy solutions to move us forward on a pathway towards energy independence and lower gas prices. We completed a fact-finding trip where we traveled to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado, as well as to Alaska’s North Slope, to get an up-close look at the cutting-edge technologies that are poised to revolutionize the energy industry, and fuel our future.

Established in 1974, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory is now the Department of Energy’s primary research center for alternative energy sources. While there, my colleagues and I were able to get a glimpse into the future of energy technology, examining everything from plug-in hybrids and biomass fuels to solar-powered hybrid cars and wind-to-hydrogen technology. Though many of these remain long-term projects, it is clear that we can invest now in renewable energy research and technology to create these energy sources for our future.

After our stop in Colorado, we continued on to the Northern Slope of Alaska, where the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A), the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), and the beginning of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline are located. Whereas 2.2 million barrels of oil a day were once produced and transported to the lower 48 states, the pipeline now only transports 700,000 barrels, and this is falling by 15% each year unless we produce more oil. And if the flow in the pipeline dwindles to less than 300,000 barrels, we will be forced to shut down production altogether because the pipeline will not have enough flow. Instead of relying on this dwindling supply in the NPR-A, the “All of the Above” plan calls for environmentally-friendly exploration in ANWR, which would decrease our dependence on foreign oil. Because of the increased sophistication of drilling techniques, a much smaller area of land is affected and a smaller footprint is created. In fact, the amount of land we could drill on in ANWR is about the size of a postage stamp on a football field.

We can lower prices by producing more. ANWR is projected to be able to produce 10 billion barrels of oil. At a recent congressional hearing on our energy situation, I presented information from the non-partisan Energy Information Administration that if ANWR produced one million barrels of oil each day (its estimated potential), that could lower gas prices by as much as fifty cents per gallon.

Remember, this is not only our energy policy, it is the next generation’s energy policy. Our future lies in innovation. It’s time for Congress to put aside the partisan bickering and vote on the “All of the Above” solutions-oriented energy bill to lower gas prices and achieve energy independence.

Sincerely,
Kevin McCarthy

First off, that the idiot uses McCain’s “My Friend” line, as nauseating as he is, it pisses me off even more. Second he is still feeding the bullshit brigade by saying drilling in ANWAR will lower gas prices..fucking moron! It will lower gas prices by less than a fucking nickle and it will take at least a DECADE to do that!

There is SO much propaganda in this email I got physically ill. Just wanted to give everyone a ‘heads up’ on what kind of batshit propaganda the Rethugs are tossing out there to validate drilling off our coasts or in ANWAR.

Holy Joe's fearmongering Sunday

From C&L a Face the Nation stump for Liebermann. Holy Joe is fearmongering his ass off.

Well thank God Iran isn't running Iraq as Holy Joe swears they would be if we had left Iraq a couple of years ago. And remember, the surge is working and soon, very soon, all of Al-Qaeda will be run out of Iraq on a fucking rail..and life will be simply wonderful for the remaining Iraqi's.

It's a two minute video..and thankfully that is about all I can take of this bag of batshit.

TomsDispatch has a realistic view of the war in Iraq. You can check it out here.

McCain's apology is bat guano.

When Weathervane McCain issued an apology for the idiot Bill Cunningham's rabid remarks the other day..many said..it was heartfelt.

Bull-friggin-shit it was.

Today, Crooks & Liars has a video up of Ol' Billy C on Hannity's show saying that he was told to do what he did. A direct quote from the idiot:

Cunningham: His people told me to give the faithful red meat. Give them red—raw—meat.

So, don't tell me that McCain was sorry..he was just sorry it became an issue.

Factchecking Obama's mailers..

And UPDATE at the bottom of the post...
Those wonderful folks at FactCheck.org have taken the time to go through Obama's mailers about Hillary's positions on NAFTA and healthcare. They are equal opportunity checkers..and they do not play favorites. From their article on this issue:

Clinton said "every Democrat should be outraged" at two "false" mailers that Obama sent to voters in Ohio.

We find that a mailer criticizing her position on trade is indeed misleading. One that attacks her health-care plan we have previously described as straining the facts, though not exactly "false."

* Trade: A mailer showing a locked plant gate quotes Clinton as saying she believed NAFTA was "a boon" to the economy. Those are not her words and Obama was wrong to put quote marks around them. In fact, she's been described by a biographer as privately opposing NAFTA in the White House.

* Health Care: A second mailer said Clinton's health care plan "forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can't afford it." We have previously said that mailer "lacks context" and strains the facts. But both Obama and Clinton have been exaggerating their differences on this issue.

We've also previously criticized Clinton for sending a mailer that twisted Obama's words and gave a false picture of his proposals on Social Security, home foreclosures and energy.

We leave it to our readers to decide whether they should be "outraged" or not, and at whom.

So, both of these asshats have put out false info on each other..but the problem I have with Obama's mailers is that he used two Newsday articles as Hillary's positions..that is bullshit, as it appears to be a direct quote in the mailer, which IT'S NOT. The words were not Hillary's they were those of the Newsday journalists..and I use journalist loosely here.

I think it's fair to say the dirty politics have begun..tighten your seatbelts it will be a very bumpy ride..

The FactCheck article goes more indepth..check it out at the second link above.

UPDATE...Christopher in the comments here takes FactCheck.org to task by pointing out various times Hillary has touted the wonderfulness of NAFTA..after checking through the internets myself..I find this article by David Sirota that also points to many of the same things Christopher does:

According to NBC's Meet the Press, in 2004, Clinton said, "I think, on balance, NAFTA has been good for New York and America."

The Associated Press reported on 3/6/96 that she said, "NAFTA is proving its worth" and later praising NAFTA as "a free and fair trade agreement."

In her memoir, Clinton trumpeted her husband's "successes on the budget, the Brady bill and NAFTA."

In 1998, Bloomberg News reports that she praised corporations for mounting "a very effective business effort in the U.S. on behalf of NAFTA." Another direct quote.

In a 2002 speech to the Democratic Leadership Council, she said:

"We all know the record of the DLC, the Progressive Policy Institute and, of course, the Clinton-Gore Administration. The economic recovery plan stands first and foremost as a testament to both good ideas and political courage. National service. The Brady Bill. Family Leave. NAFTA. Investment in science and technology. New markets. Charter schools. The Earned Income Tax Credit. The welfare to work partnership. The COPS program. The SAFER program. All of these came out of some very fundamental ideas about what would work. The results speak for themselves. Those ideas were converted into policies programs that literally changed millions of lives and, I argue, changed America."

I now agree with Christopher that FactCheck.org needs to recheck their facts. I stand corrected, thank you Christopher! ;)

Politics..Hillary style.

Watch her last ad that will be running tonight on every Iowa channel during the evening news. Check out how many times she lies about 'bringing our soldiers home', when we all know she has no intention of doing that in her 'first' term as President. Bitch has balls, thats for sure. This is her bullshit for the masses commercial. Wonder how many will buy into it..we will know tomorrow evening.

In a recent debate, all three of the Democratic front-runners declined to make a pledge to have all U.S. forces withdrawn from Iraq by 2013

"Will you pledge that by January 2013, the end of your first term, more than five years from now, there will be no U.S. troops in Iraq?" MSNBC's Tim Russert, who moderated the debate, asked Senator Barack Obama.

"I think it's hard to project four years from now, and I think it would be irresponsible," Sen. Obama responded. "We don't know what contingency will be out there," he continued. The best he could do was declare: "I will drastically reduce our presence there to the mission of protecting our embassy, protecting our civilians, and making sure that we're carrying out counterterrorism activities there."

Sen. Hillary Clinton, likewise, refused to take the pledge. "I agree with Barack," she said, adding, "It is very difficult to know what we're going to be inheriting."

Even former Senator John Edwards, who is generally placed as the No. 3 Democrat in major-media polling and who has made opposition to the war a cornerstone of his campaign, responded in the negative to Russert's question, saying: "I cannot make that commitment."

Helen Thomas, a columnist for Hearst Newspapers and a veteran White House correspondent covering every administration from John F. Kennedy through George W. Bush, blasted the democratic presidential candidates and "the spineless Democratic congressional leadership" in a column entitled, "The Democrats who enable Bush."

The scrappy Thomas angrily noted:

The leading Democratic presidential candidates sang from the same songbook: Sens. Hillary Clinton of New York, and Barack Obama of Illinois, and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards refused to promise to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq by 2013, at the end of the first term of their hypothetical presidencies. Can you believe it?

I believe it Helen..problem is..the voters have very short memories.. Now, I think the next video is more truthful than Hillarys..except for the part about voting for Obama..I am not ready to cast my lot with him or Edwards yet.

Pelosi calls Cheney a Dick..and I don't mean Richard..

Graphic filched from DarkBlack.

Well, truthfully..she didn't call him a dick..but I bet she did in private. After the Big Dick's speech-i-fying the other day..Nancy got her panties in a wad according to Politico:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says a swipe that Vice President Cheney took at Democratic House leaders is "beneath the dignity of his office."

Now, personally, I don't think Nan has a lot of room to talk. She who refuses to impeach these bastids for high crimes and misdemeanors. In fact, I would go so far as to say..Nan..you really are the kettle calling the pot black..bitch.

When will Bush stop connecting 9/11 and Iraq?

When will this asshole give it a fucking rest? There is NO connection, never was and never will be ya moron. Anyone with the IQ of a dandelion knows this. George had the nads to invoke the most holy of Iraq War Lies today:

"In rebuffing calls to bring troops home from Iraq, President George W. Bush employed a stark and ominous defense. "The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq," he said, "were the ones who attacked us in America on September the 11th, and that's why what happens in Iraq matters to the security here at home."

Jesus Christ on a crutch. Is he retarded? His speech writers are retarded? Who the fuck is the idiot that keeps putting that shit into his speeches? On Thursday alone, he referred at least 30 times to Al Qaeda or its presence in Iraq.

Blah blah blah..Al Qaeda blah, blah...Al Qaeda...terrorists..blah blah..Al Qaeda.

Seriously these mental midgets need some new writers..its downright pathetic how stupid they look. 10-year old's know its a bag of bullshit.

The IHT article linked above points out a little history in case Bush is reading their writeups:

Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia did not exist before the Sept. 11 attacks, and it has thrived as a magnet for recruiting and a force for violence largely because of the American invasion of Iraq in 2003, which brought an American occupying force of more than 100,000 troops to the heart of the Middle East.

Al Qaeda is everywhere. They are embedding themselves around the globe..and we can thank George Bush for that shit. I know bullshit when I smell it, after 6 years of it, isn't hard.
