The new candidate for Prez..

Are you ready...drumroll please...its...

Christopher Walken..yes THAT guy, the actor. He has a website here. He has his platform here. He is hitting the ground running. Hey..if the Shrub could get elected, jerking out millions of dipshits that voted for him..why not Walken in 08?

I am not calling Chris a dipshit, I'm just saying anything is possible sportsfans.

Because if the options for my vote are limited to a Repube and some Democrap, either of which I don't want..I will vote for Mr. Walken in a heartbeat. As someone who is registered as an Independant I am tired of the new candidate being the same as the old candidate. He is a breath of fresh air in a stale, stinky two party system. I might not agree with his complete platform, and frankly..its kinda vague..but hell..what do we have to lose? I mean..can his advisors be any worse than the Shrubs?

Thanks to the Divine Ms. M for this link.

Bakersfield's own NL Belardes on yesterday's protest.

Nick is very prolific..he writes books, he has half a dozen blogs on music, writings and local happenings, he is also a very good photographer. I really wanted to just ask that any of my three loyal readers take the time to go check out his coverage of Bakersfields Immigration March yesterday. He has some very good shots up including the one posted here..of my very favorite District Attorney Eddie Jagels..don't ya think Eddie looks like he has a major case of gas or something? Plus, from the posts I have read on local blogs such as NL's and Bako Carpetbaggers, he didn't have a clue what was going on..which, is not news sportsfans..Eddie usually misses the bus on lots of things..like legalized medicinal marijuana use, child molesters and why Bruce Sons should be freed after his office fucked up the first trial against him by hiding evidence. Speaking of the Bruce Son's trial..which is being held for a record 3rd retrial in Santa Maria, CA..the judge isn't taking no shit from the DA's office..kudos to him..course he doesn't have to pay homage to Eddies office like the judges here in town seem to do. ..but I digress..go check out NL..hes da shit.

A documentary about the "war" by those that fought it.

I was perusing some of my usual haunts this morning when I saw this link up at donkeyod this morning. Its over at the HuffPo and its about a new documentary film entitled "The War Tapes" that will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival next month. It was made by the National Guard of New Hampshire during their stint in Iraq. The whole platoon evidently brought video camera's and filmed for an entire year..jesus christ in a thong, a whole year's worth of horror. They arrived in March of 2004, just as the shit was really starting to hit the fan insurgency-wise.

Check out the link, and see the documentary when it comes out..it can only be powerful and thought-provoking...as well as an accurate measurement of what our troops have to endure in the name of this fucked up war. Its not pro or anti war..its just a view into the horror of war. War should not be fought for meaningless reasons..it scars a whole generation that had to do our "bidding"...er..fighting.

3800 Bakersfield students walk out of class and protest Immigration changes.

I think my blogger buddy over at Bako Carpetbagger did the greatest service to our students walking out today in response to the changes in the Federal Immigration law. Please go check it out here. His blog doesnt allow comments but you can email him if you so desire. Its a very heartfelt post on today's events, and I am sure nothing close to the writeup our local rag, the Californian will provide its readers with tomorrow.

3800 students is the number that the police department put on the protest..fyi.

oh yeah..AHNOLD was in town today too..ass-kissing some female business owners.

Good one up at Lulu's place..

Just check out her photoshop first, this is da Shrub,Andy Card and Bolten or Boltin..i forget which..and then go read her post..gotta love the woman..she knows how to make me laugh :) My friggin cats are sick, the ball and chain is still feigning illness and my back is a mess..but I got a smile on my face now.

Her last line just killed me...and I quote: Bolten had a mouth full of grass and was unable to answer reporters' questions.

Bush wants Al-Jaafari to step down as Prime Minister of Iraq

Last time I checked..Al-Jaafari was elected to the office of Prime Minister of Iraq. True, he hasn't been able to hold a session with the "other" elected officials. But what in the blue hell gives the Shrub the right to tell him that he wants him to resign? I thought we were behind the duly elected officials in Iraq? I thought the Shrub has been singing the praises of Iraq's leadership? Haven't we had over 2300 soldiers die for the Iraqi's right to elect who they wanted?

Our ambassador to Iraq has "passed a note" ala highschool, to Al-Jaafari from the Shrub. The ambassador met with several of the Shiites leaders on Monday to pass on the Shrubs request. A quote from Al-Jaafari's right hand man on the topic: "How can they do this?" Mr. Ubady said. "An ambassador telling a sovereign country what to do is unacceptable."

Yep..its totally unacceptable. Its so fucked up, its ridiculous to even consider..but the Shrub has done it. His minion,Ambassador Khalilzad, has told the Iraqi leaders what the Shrub wants..and we all know...the Shrub gets what he wants..no matter what it takes or how many people have to die..or how illegal it is..he gets what he wants.

When will this madness end? Its up to us this November to stop it. We can not end the Shrub's regime but we surely can put an end to the support he enjoys in both houses. Those lemmings need to be removed from office.

The Shrub's stand on immigration really chafes my ass.

I guess he doesn't mind the idea of spending 5 bucks for a head of lettuce. Or having the cost of eating a meal increase because people born in this country just don't want to wash dishes in the kitchen or serve your hamburger through the local fast food window. The Shrub wants to institute a "guest worker" program. Sure thing George, let them come over for the menial jobs that lack healthcare and sometimes basic safety protection. Let them pay into the unemployement pool, and social security. Just don't let them enjoy any of the perks, like living here and bettering themselves and their families.

If we want to stem the illegal immigration tide..we need to stop it at the source, the border. I do not have a problem with building our own version of the great wall of china. Or, whatever it takes to keep out the illegals.

Once they are here and have become tax paying citizens, I think they should be able to apply for citizenship. I am sick of people bitching about how they overload the healthcare system and the school districts. They pay taxes each week when they get a paycheck. Our healthcare system is overloaded not only because of the illegals but because healthcare is something more and more American's can't afford or their job just doesn't offer it. The San Joaquin Valley has deaths each year from farm workers being exposed to pesticides. If it was white folks dying in those fields, you can bet your sweet ass it would be monitored and possibly criminal charges against the offending companies. The companies..and btw..all farms are companies, no mom and pops.. know those workers are being exposed but they don't care, they value the almightly dollar over human life. Workers pick our food in temperatures that exceed 100 degrees every single day for months during the the summer here. It's a downright shitty job. I don't know a single soul that would do it for a living. I did it for a summer. I know what its like. The living conditions are archaic and disgusting in many cases.

But the Shrub and his followers want to let them come over and work..then go home. He wants to continue the tradition of making money off the backs of illegals but not offering them anything in return. He wants them to be invisible. He wants them to work hard and for next to nothing AND not be seen or heard.

To me that shows a lack of compassion and its wrong. Maybe I am just pissed off because I am half mexican and at some point in time my relatives came over via the Rio Grande. I don't care why I feel the way I do. I just know that most illegals are not trouble makers and work hard, go to church and are proud of being able to live here. Americans don't appreciate the risk they took to look for a better life because Americans have no clue what its like to live in a country that is sub-standard even by the most basic of measurements. Illegals do the jobs none of us would do on our worst day, but they are necessary jobs to maintain our comfortable lives and needs.

OH..I didn't put a comments section up because I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks on this subject...it was my rant, my editorial. If you support the new immigration bullshit..go post on your own blog about it. I am not being mean, I just don't care what anyone else thinks on this subject...its not up for discussion over here, its too personal for me to discuss eloquently or unbiased.

Bumper Stickers I love.

A new link for me over on the sidebar is CarryaBigSticker.com. Since Mileah passed on, I put it in her spot, I think she would love most of their products. I feel I will need to update my wardrobe with some of the T-shirt versions of these stickers. Go drop a couple of bucks and show your support..or don't..but I will, because nothing says loving like one of these suckers.

Ya know..Its not that the Shrub is a bad guy..

ITs just that the sumbitch is a few cards shy of a full deck..and his advisors have an axe to grind..most of the important ones are from the Nixon administration. We all know how that one turned out..his balls were cut off" and according to the men that will still discuss it, the power of the oval office was usurped..

Thats where I take exception..we did not cut their power cord..we merely gave the power back to the people..thats where it belongs..I don't give a rat's ass if we are dumb as rocks..we are the power..

If we fuck up...we get a "do-over"..its in the printable media known as the constitution and the bill of rights...give US a chance to do it right..if we fuck up..so be it..we fix it..

The Shrub's administratrion refuses to listen to anyone outside their powerbase. They are paranoid and full of themselves..we the people..we can admit we fucked it up and make it right..we have no ego..unlike the Shrub's administration.

The Port Huron Statement..and other writings of interest.

Tom Hayden's Port Huron Statement was a very powerful read for me as a 17 year old. He has updated it and brought it into the present. He will be at the "Strand" bookstore in NYC next Thursday if anyone that reads my drivel lives in that neck of the woods. He will also be speaking with Laura Flanders and Katrina vanden Heuvel whilst there. If you do not live near there, as I don't, it will be on Air America Radio hopefully the following weekend on Laura's show Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 to 10:00pm EST on the Air America Radio Network.

There is also a book out that I would like to draw your attention to. The author is Kevin Phillips, and the title is "American Theocracy". Mr. Phillips is one of the architects of conservatism, he helped create the conservative movement as a young man in the 60's. He is the author of 12 other books as well. He is well respected in literary circles as well as political circles. Mr. Phillips is no longer a believer with regards to the current conservative trends. To quote from the NY Times review of his current book: "No longer does he see Republican government as a source of stability and order. Instead, he presents a nightmarish vision of ideological extremism, catastrophic fiscal irresponsibility, rampant greed and dangerous shortsightedness. (His final chapter is entitled "The Erring Republican Majority.") In an era of best-selling jeremiads on both sides of the political divide, "American Theocracy" may be the most alarming analysis of where we are and where we may be going to have appeared in many years. It is not without polemic, but unlike many of the more glib and strident political commentaries of recent years, it is extensively researched and for the most part frighteningly persuasive."

I plan on picking up this book soon. He has seen the changes within the Republican party from the inside. He helped create the monster he now chastises. It should be interesting. The part of the review that hooked me is this: When the american troops failed to secure the Iraqi National Museum of History, it was looted bare of priceless human historical artifacts. But the troops did manage to beat feet over to the Iraqi Oil Ministy and secure that building, which of course housed the maps and charts to their vast oil production. Terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, tyranny, democracy and other public rationales were, Phillips says, simply ruses to disguise the real motivation for the invasion....Geez..no shit? What was his first clue?

Mar 22, 2006

I had to share this..

A quote from Sir Winston Churchill: The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter. It says volumes to me..simply put..there is alot of work to do before the election.

Now back to our regularly scheduled ranting..

Tommy Delay is still raging against the machine.

This machine being the Prosecutors office in that grand state of Texas..they are trying to re-instate some of the charges against our boy.Tommy boy is fighting the circuit appeals court request by using his time-honored excuse that this is all a political mud-slinging affair..cuz he is still running for office.

Same thing Randy "Duke" Cunningham said for a couple of years..look what happened there. Randy will be hoping his new roomie isn't Bubba from Brooklyn.

In case you need a recap of what Tommy boy has pulled during his tenure and the charges ..the link to a Truthout article is here.

The Democraps are hoping against hope that Tommy is the first domino to fall in this current administration..so do I, but I am not counting on it.

Mar 21, 2006

I am nothing if not long-winded.

I posted this as a comment on a rightwing blog entitled "The Aurora". Its not bad as far as rightwing blogs go, some are better, many are far worse..They had a post up about the reasons for going into Iraq..they offered "proof" on the points the Shrub used to drag us into a war. I no longer care WHY we went..its a mute point unless someone finds an impeachable offense..which I personally believe exist. I just poured alot of my feelings into my comment and figured..wtf..use it as a post for MY own blog..so here ya go.

Look..I am sick of arguing about why we went into Iraq..we are there..If a group can pull enough info together to impeach the Shrub over it..more power to em..I am moving on. I only have so much time and energy to devote to politics and I feel its wasted on fighting about the why we went in there.

If you expect an apology from anyone your not going to get it. The Shrub has done what during his administration? Started a war, removed the teeth from the EPA and put our ass's so far in debt our childrens children will be paying it off for decades to come..unless of course they cut the living shit out of programs designed to help those that can not help themselves..i.e., medicare, welfare and social security...the big three. Or they raise taxes..which of these two options is less likely to hurt the repubes in an election year??? That is how they will figure it out and attempt to fix our fiscal irresponsiblity which is so disgusting even you repube lovers have to admit that...at least i think you do..I dont know anymore.

Nothing is black and white..nothing. Its not democraps against the repubes anymore..its people worried about mortgaging our ass to the hilt for this war...a war we were told was won almost three years ago. The Shrub's administration seriously underestimated what it took to set an Iraqi government up and put them in power. The Iraqi's have held ONE session of their government..and it didn't last an hour I believe.

The Democraps are hoping that Fitz will deliver us from evil..aka indict many of those currently in power..its going to take at least a year or more for that to happen, if ever..meanwhile..we have another election on the horizon.

I am simply tired of the Shrubs brand of administering to our needs. He doesn't give a rat's ass about anything but corporate america...if you don't believe me..so be it..he doesn't have a religious bone in his body..and he panders to the religious zealots as his political base, which I find very disgusting. Lots of people believe in god..lots of them also don't listen to Rush Limbaugh or watch Fox News.

Middle America is disappearing as we type..its becoming a nation of have and have nots. Jobs are going outside the US at a faster rate than any time in our history. Global warming is a real threat and anyone that says different is friggin nuts and has their head in the sand. I know too many intelligent, educated individuals looking for work because their jobs have been taken by folks in India for one example.

I want a compassionate administration..thats all i want..I want people in power that listen to others and not just themselves. I want my son to be able to breathe 20 years from now without the help of a respirator. I want the ground water which WE ALL depend on..to be pure and free of toxins. I want the rest of the globe to respect us as they once did as a leader of the free world.

The cold war ended many moons ago..the Shrub has single-handidly started it all up again. This can not be a good thing..by any stretch of the imagination.

I want a President that doesn't sound like a complete idiot when he opens his mouth and speaks without the aid of a written speech. He needs to make sense and not talk to people like their IQ is on the same level of a six year old.

I am just tired..sick and tired of worrying..and the Shrub does nothing to make me feel warm and fuzzy, not to mention feel safe and secure..now or in my future. Not about terrorism, healthcare, social security, the environment, and god knows what else I have forgotten to name. I want to know what he has done that is positive..I want someone that supports him to tell me what he has done that is a good, positive action..for me, the US and the rest of the earth as a whole.

My Peace Rally photos are up on the "other" blog..

Its been a trying weekend since returning from the Peace Rally. I found out Saturday evening that a dear, sweet blogger passed away. Her name was Mileah, and her blog was "Literally Liberal". I loved her way of waxing political. Mileah didn't bitch-slap you between the eyes like I have a tendancy to do..she did it with a little sarcasm and humor. She wasn't always political either..I got to know her through her blog and subsequent emailing sessions we would have while she was at work...it would of been easier to chat methinks, but hell..we would just send hours of emails back and forth sometimes. I take comfort in the fact that she is now with her mother who died very young as well, and whom Mileah always missed so much. We who loved her shall now be missing Mileah...

For what is it to die, but to stand in the sun and melt into the wind?
Kahlil Gibran

Oh yeah..the rally pics..blogger wouldn't cooperate on this blog..but I seemed to be able to upload most of them on the fluff blog..the linkage to it is here if you care to check them out.

Mar 19, 2006

Yesterday was a grand display in Fuck You activism.

What I found interesting is that the Speakers at the rally yesterday took as many shots at the Democrap's as they did the Shrub and his minions..

Now....its not a typo..I am now going to refer to the "other" party as the Democraps from here on out. Their message is non-existant and it smells to high heaven. They haven't utilized their own balls in so long they need to freshen up,cuz sportsfans..their ball sacs smell like ass.

As soon as blogger let's me upload some pictures I will do so..with comments of course. I know my three readers are just dying for something to do on this fine Sunday morning..

The Anniversary

This week is the anniversary of the "war"..A sad, sickening, stomach-turning type of anniversary.

So..As good citizens we need to celebrate this anniversary..by taking part in a protest, a vigil, what-ever-the-hell-it-takes type of activity that gets all the armchair activists out there. Be loud and be proud sportsfans..Hell, buy a damn T-shirt from UFP..they are on sale! Ten bucks gets you this lovely shirt on the left.

I am trekking to Santa Barbara today to participate in an anti-war rally. It promises to be a good one, Santa Barbara residents know how to throw a good protest. I got my favorite T-shirt on..the black one with "He's not MY President" emblazoned across my ample chest.

I urge every one of my three readers to get off your ass and do something this week that vocalizes your opposition to this war. United for Peace and Justice has every activity listed by state and zipcode. I am willing to drive a four hour round trip to show my displeasure with our government. I don't expect everyone to be that conscientious. I started in Santa Barbara and I feel its fitting that I get involved there again. Sadly, we do not have anything planned here in Bakersfield.

The ball and chain fears I will be arrested. I told him to not worry..Its not illegal...Yet.

Can I borrow 781 Billion bucks?

NO? Why not? The Shrub needs that much..The statutory debt limit has now risen by more than $3 trillion since Bush took office.

He needs it just to keep our country afloat and not default on our debt. This quote from a WAPO article out this morning:"The government bumped up against its $8.18 trillion statutory debt ceiling last month, forcing the Treasury to borrow from employee pension funds to keep the government operating."

Did you notice where they got the funds from? Thats never a sound business practice. San Diego did much the same thing and they are in a shitload of trouble over it.

Lets look at the breakdown of where some of its going.
1. $4.1 billion was provided in nonmilitary foreign aid, more than half of it for diplomatic and local governance programs in Iraq.
2. $68 billion, would pay for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The legislation would push total war costs since Sept. 11, 2001, to nearly $400 billion. Before the Iraq invasion in 2003, administration officials predicted that costs related to the war would total less than $100 billion.(Jesus, talk about cost overruns)
3. $19 billion for Katrina victims..which pales in comparison to the war "effort" package.

We have left the monetary world of billions..we are now into trillions..how long till we get to the z's as in zillions.

Sickening ain't it?

San Diego gets involved..will you?

It made me smile this morning, to see the video of a protest organized by UCSD students. They aren't all apathetic, comfortable kids. It wasn't all college kids, and it wasn't all liberals..it was people uniting for a common cause. You can say what you want, rhetoric is just words..actions speak louder. It felt good to see my hometown speak out against the war on a busy street corner in a red county. Wonder if the Shrubs boyz were there, infiltrating this group of peace-niks..wasting our tax dollars spying on people who's only goal is to end the occupation of Iraq. Sure, some of them didn't seem to have a clear idea of what to say, but their hearts and heads were in the right place. The Shrub's supporters can sling their barbs, they can attack our actions..but they can not kill our spirit. We still have the right to NOT be silent like one of the signs said.

Link to the video is here.

Joint Chief Commander contradicts the Shrub and Rummy

When asked today at a PENTAGON news conference if he has proof that the Iranians are sending people and bomb-making equipment into Iraq Marine Corp Gen. Peter Pace said NO. This was in response to a question asked because the Shrub and Rummy are now making comments that attempt to include Iran in the mix as contributing to the war being waged by the extremists inside of Iraq.

Pace is our top Military Official. Rummy was with him and tried like hell to put his usual "positive" spin on it..the link to the WAPO article regarding the press conference is here.

In other news..memos leaked in England show that their top military officials expressed doubts in America's handling of post-war Iraq in 2003. Gee..no shit? What was their first clue?

The link to the British memo article is here.

Feingold leads..will the Dems follow?

Russ Feingold today introduced a resolution to censure the Shrub regarding his spying on American citizens within our borders. This of course is now a mute point since they changed the law recently to make it easier for the Shrub and his playmates to spy on we,the people. But I do tip my hat to Russ. He is a lone voice on the Senate floor taking the Shrub to task time and time again.

An excerpt of his speech on the floor:
"As we move forward, Congress will need to consider a range of possible actions, including investigations, independent commissions, legislation, or even impeachment. But, at a minimum, Congress should censure a president who has so plainly broken the law."
"This President exploited the climate of anxiety after September 11, 2001, both to push for overly intrusive powers in the Patriot Act, and to take us into a war in Iraq that has been a tragic diversion from the critical fight against al Qaeda and its affiliates. In both of those instances, however, Congress gave its approval to the President’s actions, however mistaken that approval may have been."

Now my thoughts:
Osama is still out there. The Shrub is no closer to finding him today than he was on 9-11. But the Shrub has more power now than any sitting President has held in our history. Where the fuck is he President Bush? We(congress and the senate) have given you everything you have asked for..and changed the laws to cover those things taken illegally by you and your power hungry playmates. You still don't have Osama. Iraq is worse off today than it has ever been in its history.

Our national debt is out of control. The Halliburtons of the world are making money hand over fist off this war. The Oil companies posted record profits under the Shrub. The EPA has systematically removed protections for our air, water and wildlife so the large corporations that filled your coffers can get richer and fatter without worrying about some silly rules and regulations designed to protect us and our children's future on this planet.

Soon, Iraq will dissolve into a civil war that can only be described as mafia-like in nature. Sadaam is gone but we have set the stage for someone just as evil and blood-thirsty to take control of this oil-rich nation.

The majority of the world views our nation as a bully that does as it pleases and threatens those that don't go along with our grand plan for the world at large.

What have you done to make our lives better? What is better for us now than pre-9/11?

Tell me something positive George..I dare you to find something positive out of your administration of horror.

Raw story has the full text of the Feingold speech here.

Rummy getting rich off Tamiflu

Bet he's a happy camper. Five Mil Large in capital gains so far off the inventors of Tamiflu. He was the chairman, is currently a board member of the company that discovered the drug, Gilead Sciences, a southern Cali company. He did not have to divest his holdings when he became a czar for the Shrub. Gilead is fond of this disclaimer:"divestiture of his investment in Gilead was not required by the Senate Armed Services Committee, the Office of Government Ethics or the Department of Defence Standards of Conduct Office."

Ain't he one lucky sumbitch?

Luck has nothing to do with it sportsfans..

To see what Rummy has been making lots of money on..the Independant has a writeup here.

Another Bush staffer that hopes he will look good in prison orange.

Claude Allen, who's last job of any significance was as a domestic policy advisor to the Shrub, has been busted. Busted as in, charged with a felony. The one thing you can say about the Shrub's minions is that those folks sure aim high. The Shrub also nominated this dipshit for a federal judgeship a couple of years ago. The Shrub said this about Claude:" a "trusted adviser" who helped "develop policies that will strengthen our nation's families, schools and communities."

He was popped for something rather stupid in my view..Felony Theft....AT TARGET!!! He was using that time-honored scam loved by crackheads everywhere--buy something and take it back after you already stole the item which you coveted. So that way..you get your photo printer AND some cash in your pocket..or in his case..refunded back to your credit card.

Way to go Claude! Perhaps you will get to bunk with others from the Shrub's administration..you might have 5-15 years to land that perfect cellmate..we can only hope :)

Be still my heart..

I shamelessly stole this from Princess Sparkle Pony's blog. Do you think its a sign of things to come? Of course if Tricky Dick gets nailed in the PlameGate debacle, retire wouldn't be the correct word...
This isn't photoshopped according to PSP. So it could be divine intervention..a sign from God telling TD the writing is on the wall so to speak. Get out now dude before your roomie is Bubba from the wrong side of the tracks.

If you can't stand the heat..move the prisoners.

Seems the Shrub is tired off all the bad press Abu Ghraib has gotten the past three years, so he is closing up shop and moving all the prisoners in a last-ditch effort to deflect all the eyeballs focused on our "torture and humiliation" practices. Kinda reminds me of the snakeoil salesman that moves from town to town, staying just long enough to make some money until the residents get wise to his scheme and a lynchmob starts forming.

Lets explore the snake oil salesman persona in the guise of the Shrub. Its a good analogy sportsfans...the snake oil seller has a product of questionable use (insert the Iraq war here). He stands on his soapbox and touts the values of his product, bringing testimonials out from behind the curtain to tell us how great the oil ..er...product is and how it helped cure whatever the hell ailed them (insert Rummy, Condi, Tricky Dick and all the rest of the Shrubs minions here). The snakeoil salesman then starts his pitch..telling the gathering of innocents that the cost is worth every red cent you pay when you get what you want, relief of what ails you(insert whatever bullshit the Shrub fed us about why we went into Iraq).

So the innocents line up to buy the product. Everyone is excited that all their ailments will be cured very soon(insert terrorism and Al Queda). But they aren't cured. The people start getting a tad pissed, banging on the snakeoil salesman's door, demanding a refund. He tells them they aren't using enough of the product and manages to get them to spend more money by promising it will work in a week or so, give it time(insert the billions and billions the government keeps spending on the war and the years we have spent there to date).

Finally, the citizens get together and discuss the snakeoil. They find that it has helped NO ONE. But they all spent a shit-load of cash on it. What do they do? They start talking about what they want to do to this salesman. The crowd starts getting hostile. Someone runs over to the snakeoil salesman's place and warns him of the impending lynch mob heading his way.

He packs a bag and gets the hell out of Dodge...er..Abu Gharib.

New link..an awesome post.

This is evidently a new blog. Its fantastic,insightful,well-written and contains...one post so far.

I know..one post and I am singing the authors praises? WTF you might ask???

It contains the bloggers version of the Shrub's SOTU speech. Its friggin right on the mark sportsfans. It hits that scum-sucking bastard right between the eyes. Its a no-holds-barred post. It made me mad, it pissed me off, it reinforced my belief in the hypocracy we witness daily coming out of the WH.

Its called "The State of the Division".Its number one with a bullet over here at my place. The link is on the sidebar..but if your too lazy to look at my sidebar..its here as well.

Good Editorial up at Capitol Hill Blue.

The wonderful and charming Doug Thompson has a good read up on his site. Its entitled "We dont burn our sources". Seems the Shrubs new witch hunt against the news media has snared our beloved Doug in its NSA net. Doug laments about this new twist in the Shrub's administration..but what is really good and the central point of his rant is the part about the jackasses from the Washington Post who had the nads to contact him and ask for a copy of the NSA letter...AND ask for the names of his sources..LMFAO..

Guess they think Doug just fell off the turnip truck. Doug has been rattleing around DC for hundreds of years..well actually over 20 but thats not the point. Doug left the "mainstream" media some time ago. Good for HIM! I trust the mainstream media less and less these days, getting my information from Doug, Truthout, Media Matters and many other online sites that are also disgusted by the mainstream media these days. Doug Thompson is someone who's site I now read daily, thanks to Karen Zipdrive. I feel he has the brains and background to tell it like it is, regardless of whether its a red or blue believer. Doug doesn't play favorites, he exposes them all, from both parties and all forms of media. His loathing of the "mainstreamers" is quite evident and they earned it.

He really does an excellent job bitch-slapping the lazy sumbitches that feed us regurgitated crap daily under the guise of "news". I highly recommend his editorial..take a few moments and check it out. The link to his rant is here.

Vanity Fair has an interview with Abramoff.

I used to read that mag..it had some decent interviews when Tina Brown ran it. Their new issue has an "indepth" interview with Jackie. Some tidbits about Jackie's relationship with some fine, upstanding Repubes..

On Newt Gingrich, who says he doesn't know Jackie:
"I have more pictures of [Newt] than I have of my wife."

On Conrad Burns:
"Every appropriation we wanted [from Burns's committee] we got. Our staffs were as close as they could be. They practically used Signatures as their cafeteria. I mean, it's a little difficult for him to run from that record."

And the best one..about going to jail..
"Let me teach English, history, music. Or let me sweep floors at the reservation. Instead you'll be paying to feed me to sit in a jail."

Sorry Jackie..thats one bill I don't mind paying..feeding your dumbass in jail. I just hope Krazy Karl and Tricky Dick get the same pleasure. Oh, the other quote that just drove me up a wall by Jackie: "I was the best thing the Indians had going"..

Link to the PDF version of the entire Vanity Fair article is here..sorry its the only one I could locate..plus..wtf is up w/my fonts in this post?

Bush orders Homeland Security to create a "faith-based" program.

Those lovely folks in the White House just want to make sure the churches get their fair share of the government dole-outs. Isn't that nice.

NOT. Churches have a tendancy to discriminate against gays, non-believers and anyone else that doesn't tow the "God" line. People shouldn't have to listen to a friggin mini-sermon or be told that their going to hell if they don't change their ways in order to get aid after a natural disaster..or any type of disaster for that matter. I define a disaster as anything that screws up your life in a NY minute..like Katrina, earthquakes, a little old lady plows into your house in her 1989 Cadillac or fires.

Seems the churches have been bitching about not getting a piece of the action..aka.. federal funds handed out to groups like the Red Cross to assist victims after Katrina.

I just love this...there is a bastion of "faith" in the WH..its called..White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. I shat you not sportsfans..there is such an office in our WH.

This is so NOT right. Well, technically it IS a right-wing type of thing..but its wrong. What the hell happened to the separation of church and state? The Shrub signed the executive order demanding the Office of Homeland Security create this program/center. This kind of program already exists..yes sir it surely does..it exists in the following departments: Justice, Education, Labor, and Health and Human Services. Those departments are already running centers for this Faith-based horseshit. Their job is develop pilot programs, conduct outreach and provide technical assistance to the groups. Ummmmmm...with our tax dollars?

Bet your sweet ass sportsfans.

The Washington Post as an article regarding this waste of our tax dollars..the link is here.

Kern County won't have Bill Thomas to kick around anymore.

Because our esteemed representative to the hallowed halls of congress isn't running for his 15th term.

Praise Jesus and pass me a beer...

He said he wanted to spend more time w/the grandkids. WTF? Perhaps it was because he has reached the highest pinnacle possible..Chair of the Ways and Means Comm. and he has to give it up at the end of this term.Sounds alot more plausible to moi.

Plus..methinks they, meaning the Repub power brokers, will be touting Kevin McCarthy for the office. In Fact, I would bet on it. Time for a younger guy that hasn't had time to develop ties to the pharmaceutical companies as Billy did. Those guys loved Bill Thomas..gave him as much campaign money as possible.

Lets wait and see who announces for the vacant seat. Let the fun begin!

They were elected on Dec 15th yet..they haven't held a session.

So, this means its been over two and a half months since Iraqi's went to the polls. The parliament has never held a session. There is NO government in Iraq other than the fascist-pig's from the United States.

Ok, perhaps for the sake of argument we aren't fascist-pigs. But we are occupiers. Our military occupies Iraq, which means to say we are the carpetbaggers there...We are "da man".

The country of Iraq is on the brink of "civil war"..queue Gun's N Rose's tune by the same name in the background please.

This fact however is nothing new in that region of planet earth. Not one tiny scintilla of news there.

No one should be surprised when all hell breaks loose over there, and its gonna sportsfans, it WILL go to hell in the proverbial handbasket. I just want our men and women out of there when it does. Have Enough of them died already to make this worthless war a boom to the major corporations getting fat, dumb and happy off it yet?

I pray for our withdrawal of the troops. I don't pray for much..I bitch alot..but I don't pray for much.

But this I pray for..bring them home before the shit totally hits the fan over there. Bring them home before it takes another physical, mental and life-long toll on a generation of individuals who entered the military to do what they saw as right based on the musings of the Shrub,Rummy, Cheney, Krazy Karl and the rest of those murderers sitting around the oval office on any given afternoon in DC.

I know that was a long, run-on sentence, but I couldn't type it fast enough to get it out of my head and through my fingers to the screen. I feel better now. Not much mind you, but a little better.

The head of this "imaginary" government in Iraq has been pressured to take a hike. Prime Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari is being asked to take a seat and give up his stake in the future of Iraq. The US Commander for the region still has his head in the fucking sand when he said he was "very, very pleased with the reaction of the Iraqi armed forces" during the violence that broke out after the Feb. 22 bombing of a sacred Shiite shrine in Samarra and reprisal attacks against Sunni Muslims...my response to his response: Nit (fucking) Wit.

On Meet the Press, a sunday morning show I used to enjoy until it became a cheer-leading homage to the Shrubs regime, our esteemed leader of all things military spoke regarding "the war". Gen. Peter Pace, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of the Shrub said: "Anything can happen, I agree, I believe the Iraqi people have shown in the last week to 10 days that they do not want civil war."

No one wants a civil war dipshit, not in their OWN country anyway.

Last night on Bill Maher I heard explained the reason for the Shrub's "talking down" to the American public when he speaks...this is good..ready?

"Its because that is the way the people really in charge had to explain it to him."

Sad, but so damn funny.

Big dark coming soon.

John Cory uses Hunter's words in his piece. John Cory is a Vietnam Vet. He has seen war, participated in it and in the end, learned to deal with the memories by writing about them. Truthout has one of his musings up today. I followed the link at the bottom of the page to his website. He lives on a beautiful, tranquil spot that has bald eagles to watch and deer to admire. I felt calm while reading his prose, even though it envoked vivid images of war and death. Must be all in how he states it. I also felt sad..but I was glad I stopped by his place. I wanted to read something from someone of my generation about the madness of today. He did not disappoint me.

Not all his writing are about war. I loved the short story entitled "When snowflakes sing". Very powerful piece.

If you want to read his article appearing today on Truthout, a link is here.

More Political fallout from Cunningham's greed.

I hope you, my dear reader remember Kathleen Harris. She of the infamous Florida recount debacle..who became a Repub darling...well, er...no longer sportsfans.

Seems she pocketed some cash-o-la from the same defense contractor as her esteemed colleague Randy "Dumb" Cunningham. She sold her soul for a paltry(in campaign dollar terms) $32K in illegal contributions..tsk..tsk..couldn't happen to a nicer woman if you ask me.

The link to Perrspectives.com's article about her fall from grace is here. Whats the poor girl gonna do now that her hopes to be re-elected seem dashed on the rocks of life.

Ask me if I give a shit..

Like PlameGate, the Shrub's administration punishes those that dare to oppose them.

Rep. and Repub Peter King of NY has been open about his opposition to the UAE deal. As has others in his party. Mr. King however, is the Head Cheese over at the House Homeland Security Committee.

He has had a trip planned to Iraq for quite awhile. Not only him but two other Repubs and a couple of Dems. They do it all time, usually the company line is "great, they can see what's going on upclose and personal and report back to their constituents." But this time Rummy's side of the group said..sorry, no plane for you, find your own way over there and home....to Mr. King who one would think would be accomodated considering his party affiliation and position.

The esteemed rep from NY wasn't going to make a big deal out of it actually, another member of the House unintentionally mentioned it to the press.

Rep. King says the move will not change his position against the UAE deal. I bet if anything this shit reinforces it, at least I hope it does..get a taste of your company's back hand to the chops did ya Peter?

Sucks don't it. The link to the truthout writeup is here.

Tricky Dick and Ozzie..separated at birth?

Its up over at LuLu's Blog. She is learning to photoshop and I dare say she's pretty damned good at it. She has Dick as Elvis, one of the Cheers boyz and my personal favorite..Ozzy. Her commentary is also right-on..o shit..did I say right? Well, you get my drift.

You know, we over here at Demand Truth, always strive to bring you, our reader, with timely, thoughtful views on the current trials and tribulations affecting our elected officials..and just dipshits in general. We sincerely think the trials will begin soon, at least its something we pray for..the tribulations happen almost hourly during the Shrub's administration.

But occasionally a little laugh is in order. If you don't laugh at some of this shit, your probably gonna cry.

Its your choice :)

You don't know Dick..and other action figures for your enjoyment.

I couldn't believe the Raw Story email this morning. It includes a little blurb about a website that is putting a Tricky Dick action figure out. You too, sportsfans, can own your very own Dick "Halliburton" Cheney action figure for the mere price of $29.95!

They also have a Condi figure..but she's cheaper lol..must be because she isn't the VP or P..she's only $24.95, complete in faux pearls.

The link to this site is here. They are an equal opportunity basher however since they also have a gay action figure..you can listen to his voice evidently, but I didn't. Oh, and a Jesus action figure too..Praise Jesus, get the kids one for Xmas!

AP releases transcripts and video showing Bush was briefed on Katrina the day before she hit land.

Damn, I figured as much..I mean, really..how could he NOT know? There are lots of folks attached to the WhiteHouse that knew what was going to happen and when.

The Associated Press has released transcripts and videos of the Shrub being briefed PRIOR to Katrina hitting land. He was told by a top hurricane expert that the levees wouldn't hold. A short piece of MoveOn.org's take on this is below:

"At the August 28th briefing, the president was told exactly what to expect:
The chief scientist of the National Hurricane Center warned that a major levee breach was "obviously a very, very grave concern." Bush lied to the entire nation about this point just 5 days later.
Michael Brown told the president that if New Orleans flooded the Superdome emergency shelter would likely be under water and short on supplies, creating a "catastrophe within a catastrophe."
Experts and officials implored the President to prepare for, as the AP described it, "devastation of historic proportions."
President Bush didn't ask a single question during the briefing. In the next two days he campaigned, attended birthday parties and played guitar while the worst natural disaster in American history killed over 1,300 people and displaced hundreds of thousands."

Afterall, it was mostly poor, black or elderly people..not the Shrub's kinda folks by ANY stretch of the friggin imagination. The link to the AP article by MARGARET EBRAHIM and JOHN SOLOMON is here. It includes a link to the videotaped briefings as well which I started to watch and just couldn't..I can't sit and watch that jackass on this subject..it literally sickens me. The NY Times has the complete article without the video links here.

New Info on the "infamous" 250 missing Emails on PlameGate

Oh don't you know this email just made my friggin day sportsfans? According to Jason Leopold, over at Truthout.org, his sources are giving him some juicy tidbits about what is in those lil ol' emails out of Tricky Dick's office..I quote from the article:

"In addition to witness testimony, investigators working with Fitzgerald are said to have discovered the existence of the emails from computers that investigators had confiscated from the Office of the Vice President, people familiar with developments in the investigation said."

Another tidbit from the article: "The emails from Cheney's office that were turned over to Fitzgerald earlier this month were written by senior aides and sent to various officials at the State Department, the National Security Council, and the Office of the President. The emails were written as early as March 2003 - four months before Plame Wilson's cover was blown in a report written by conservative columnist Robert Novak. The contents of the emails are said to be damning, according to sources close to the investigation who are familiar with their substance. The emails are said to implicate Cheney in a months-long effort to discredit Wilson - a fact that Cheney did not disclose when he was interviewed by federal investigators in early 2004, these sources said."

Hot damn kids! Ain't this gonna drive ol' Tricky Dick up the wall?

I just hopt to GOD this investigation gets moving real soon. I want to see them squirm, I want to hear their excuses..I want them to sweat like a whore in church..so to speak..

Check out the article..Jason has developed many many contacts on this fiasco and seems to get alot of inside info. Whenever I see an email with his name on it..I open that puppy post haste.

I can go to work now a smiling woman..beats thinking about my laptop anyway..

Today's Photo..er..Graphic..ok, Picture.
